I shaved my head 😳😅

I’ve always felt like shaving my head was something I wanted to do at some point in my life, but I’ve always felt too nervous to do it (yes, even as someone who changes my hair so often 😅). After my mom was diagnosed with cancer she made me promise I wouldn’t shave my head, so I know she’d hate this 😅😆 but I also know she’d love that I’m being brave (even if she didn’t understand why I’d do this to myself haha).

Hair is a big security blanket for me, even when it’s short I feel like it’s a big part of the way I express myself.

There’s something exciting and terrifying about stripping it away - I feel more vulnerable already.

I’ve also heard it said that hair holds memory, and to be honest the past year has been pretty brutal - so maybe this can act as somewhat of a fresh start.

So here’s to taking risks and doing something new and out of my comfort zone! Hopefully I don’t regret it 😅🙈 (I did have a big “what the **** did I do?!” moment this morning 😅 but I’m back to loving it again this afternoon haha)

Today marks 5 years without my beautiful, dynamic, loving mother who always found a way to bring laughter and fun wherever she went. She lived such a wonderfully full life, and loved and was loved by so many! I love and miss you more than I can say

2 years in and it never gets old that I live here.

Was time for a chop just before summer hits.

This semester I took an intro to painting class as one of my art electives, and honestly, I think it’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.

I’ve always loved painting as an art form, but never really believed I had any talent for it. I painted a bit out of high school, but never really stuck with it, and only created one painting I was actually proud of. It’s been such a blast to explore a new creative outlet, and I hope these won’t be the last paintings that I share!

These were my 3 bigger assignments for my class, each having their own specific requirements (the middle one is supposed to be a self portrait, if you couldn’t tell haha).

If you’ve ever thought about taking up an art class or something but have yet to do it, this is your sign to do it!
