I've finally finished my RAOCKS for the wildland firefighters now I just have to find a way to get them to where they need to be.

I needed a gift, for my co worker's retirement, on very short notice. I had almost finished the Don't Care Bear so I created a chest badge and voila a work appropriate gift. I'm calling him Wine Time Bear (not my pattern)

My Giant Lollipops are finally done and they'll make a great addition to my Christmas Display.
They are very easy to make all you need is Pool Noodles, duct tape, hot glue, basket wrap a broom handle and some 2x4's to build a jig.

I'm making rain worms. Pocket drops and kitten drops to send to the firefighters battling the fires in our province Hopefully they will bring a bit of joy to these hardworking selfless people.

The raindrop is simply 3 DC, 3HDC, CH1, TDC, CH1, 3HDC, 3DC, join with ss. If you stitch over your tail you can cinch centre closed which better forms the drop.

The Fibre Library has been open 2 weeks now and it's going great. Yarn and patterns are going out and coming in as well. What a great success some fabric was even donated that someone else decided would be perfect for their project.
If your donation won't fit in the library you can leave it by our front door and it will be added when there is room.

It's official BC has another Little Fibre Library with the opening of my North Delta Fibre Library today.

Thanks to the United Way's Hi Neighbour community initiative for funding it and David Quick for building it

I'm looking forward to meeting other fibre artists in my community so we can inspire and enable each other. We all know the best way to justify getting more yarn is to de stash ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ˜

Never fails I think Iโ€™m an adult Iโ€™m capable of painting craft projects without getting paint on my clothing. Yeah right it never fails I finish the project only to find acrylic paint all over my clothing.

Iโ€™m just lucky I found a fool proof way of getting it out and itโ€™s something that most of us always have in the house. All you have to do is soak your clothing and wash as usual and the paint is gone.

Wait for it you are not going to believe it but all you have to use is plain old cowโ€™s milk. Brings new meaning to got milk? The bonus is it also works on ink and car grease. Go figure ๐Ÿ˜†
I should have taken before and after pics for proof but I just wanted the paint gone.

Happy Flowers pattern by Joanne King 09/04/2023

I must admit I am not a designer but sometimes I surprise myself and am able to put several techniques together and get something that is exactly as I pictured it. So I took the time to write it out and Iโ€™ve published it so here it is my very first pattern.

Itโ€™s free and they make great

I found a pattern for a pocket bear and thought I would make some. Unfortunately it was a little too big for my pocket so I tweaked the pattern and made it smaller.

06/03/2023

Finally finished the second ottoman cover I used the same yarn but did a different pattern this time. I thought the waffle stitch was a yarn eater until I made this pattern it's even worse but it would be a really warm blanket

My 2022 Temperature blanket is finally done and it is huge even though it is mosaic. I used the Havana Cal and Caron Simply Soft Yarn We had some unusual weather in BC hence the really big patch of yellow that went right into winter. I used Ribbon yarn with the colour of the day to highlight birthdays and our anniversary and the border separates the months
I just had to add my photo bommer

Itโ€™s time for new covers for the ottomans so I just did a simple waffle stitch in blanket yarn. Heckle and Jeckle have given their approval and best of all it doubles as a puzzle feeder

My best friend's husband was not a hockey fan when they met but recently he has taken an interest in the Kraken so I just had to make the Twisted Kraken by the Twisted Hatter for him.
To get a good curl on the tentacles your border stitches need to be tight. Even with my tight tension it wasn't working so instead of using a regular single crochet I used the amigurumi single crochet where you wrap your yarn under your hook and I achieved a nice curl this time.
It's boxed and ready to go to it's new home in Washington

My niece joined Girl Guides so I had to make her a ditty bag to go along with the other camping essentials

28/12/2022

I stopped for a minute and Jeckle buried himself in my work hampering my progress

Wonderful Colours, cuddly and soft but it should come with a warning - this yarn has catitude ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿคช

I spilled hair dye on my old bath mat so this ufo had to come out of storage and move to the head of the WIP line. I love how it turned out, an even better I won at yarn chicken. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

07/09/2022

HOTH I love how this turned out the pattern was so easy to follow. I may have found the thing that will sell really well in BC
