Hello ENVS!! Welcome back to campus and get ready to kick your studies back into gear! We are so excited to be offering a new opportunity for ENVS Club — a space where students can take charge of their own department through planning events, volunteer opportunities, and more. ENVS Club is the perfect chance for students to gain leadership experience within the environmental field and make a difference in their community. With rampant freedom and inspired ideas, we are so excited to see what you all do!

Boo! 👻 It’s Species Watch Wednesday round 3. And this time…. we’re DYING to see your creepy crawlers! 🕷️🕸️ As always, all rules apply, and you have ONE WEEK to send in a picture or video of any kind of spider. Remember you could be the lucky winner of 10 RETAIL POINTS.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the rules:

1. Pictures and videos MUST be taken this week from YOUR device (include your hand in the picture or video, or include the timestamp and location)

2. If we catch you in a lie, you will be BLACKBALLED from the competition 💔

3. Pictures and videos should be DMed directly to the UVM ENVS Instagram

4. You MUST be following the UVM ENVS account 🙈

5. You have until TUESDAY night at 11:59PM to submit ⏰

6. If you are chosen, you will be asked to provide your UVM netID

Send this spooky challenge to your friends. You do not need to be part of the ENVS department to participate. Good luck and stay safe out there. 🎃

Warning: spiders are drawn out by silence, darkness, and stillness… you might find them if you dare to look 🫣💀

Hi ENVSer’s! The UVM Career Center and Environmental Studies Program have been working on bringing an exciting opportunity to campus: an environmental internship panel! 👷‍♀️🌿 They are looking for a few more student panelists to talk about their experiences in an internship during their college career. This is a great opportunity to reflect on your experience, connect with the ENVS community, and exercise/develop public speaking skills — plus, it’s a great resume builder. 📝

The link to sign up is in the ENVS bio, or reach out directly to event coordinators [email protected] and/or [email protected]. Hope to see you there! 👋

Welcome to my day in the life as a Boat Launch Steward! ⛵️🌿 Much of this role involves speaking to boaters and asking them permission to inspect their watercraft for invasive species 🔎, as well as species ID 🪷, environmental education 👩‍🏫 and data collection 📝. This is a super awesome summer position that ENVS students can apply for in the spring through . Thanks for watching! 🌱
