I’ve had some questions lately about why I haven’t posted any photos of this springs bear hunts. The season started out great, we were one of the only areas in Alberta that had zero wildfires. We ran 2 successful weeks of hunts with some really great bears taken, along with a bonus wolf! The start of the 3rd week everything changed, I got a call that there was a out of control forest fire that had started only 3km north of camp. Within minutes there was helicopters buzzing overhead, waterbombers flying by and we had to evacuate. All we could grab was our valuables and had to leave everything behind. Originally I thought this would only be for a day or 2 until crews got the blaze under control, but unfortunately after 2 days and the fire only getting worse I made the really tough decision to send my clients home and cancel the rest of the hunts for the year. To this day there is still an evacuation order and closure in place for the area I operate. I will start to post some pictures in the coming days of the bears we did harvest, in the meantime I hope everyone stays safe in this crazy wildfire season.

Now for the biggest bear of the season! John from Rocky Ridge Outdoors came up to hunt with us. On the last evening of his hunt, after passing up multiple other bears put the hammer down on this massive boar! Pictures don’t even come close to doing this bear justice! Congrats again John! 🇨🇦

Jack from Mississippi was our youngest hunter of the year! Turning 12 just days before his hunt! Jack got to harvest this beautiful boar on the first evening of the hunt! Congrats Jack! 🇨🇦

Our client Jeff, who is a repeat client and his father had camp all to themselves this year due to multiple last minute cancellations! Jeff ended up harvesting a giant 7’ boar with his bow on the 2nd evening after watching and passing up multiple other bears on the 1st day! 🇨🇦

Our next successful hunter was Rebecca, who only had 3 days to hunt but came up and got it done! Congrats on a great bear Rebecca! 🇨🇦

Great opportunity for guys that want to bear hunt but don’t have the time to put into it.
Hunt for 6 full days while staying in our fully accommodating wall tent camp, equipped with hot showers. Spend the days hunting out of one of our large platform trees stands or in a large ground blind. Come back to camp and enjoy a hot meal and warm campfire. We accommodate both rifle and archery hunters. In 2021 we ran 100% success rate with a mixture of both black and colour phase bears.
Residents will drive themselves an hour north of fort McMurray, from there you will get transported into camp.
Hunts are $2500.00, 20% deposit required.
Successful clients will have an opportunity to shoot a 2nd bear for an additional trophy fee. Residents must purchase there own license and tags.

That’s a wrap on the spring 2021 bear season! What an awesome season it was! To each of my clients, thank you for trusting us with your hunts! We were 1 bear shy of running 100% success, and that hunter had multiple chances to harvest a bear! Thank you to my guides Nolan and Ty for sticking it out, without you guys this season wouldn’t have been possible. Finally thanks to my father, Brian who took care of camp on days without clients! Can’t wait till next spring!

Congrats to our final client of the year Jon! This was a very special hunt for Jon, not only was it his first bear but it was also his first big game harvest! Glad we could share the super special experience with him!
