Trying to find time to paint a little more.
Friday night painting
I know there’s been some looking for pink lately…Introducing two new hot LIMITED EDITION colors: Dreamhouse and Malibu. These are available in Chalk Synthesis Paint and One Hour Enamel. You can order them now from my website. I have some coming today and can’t wait to paint something pink.💕
I’m never too sure how it will end up when I start.
I love painting furniture but I also enjoy just taking a couple hours to paint a sign or canvas. Although I have no plans for this sign, I wanted to attempt to paint the Madison County Courthouse. It was a little more challenging than I anticipated but still enjoyed a little Friday night painting.
Introducing...
NEW COLORS! The Wilderness Collection
5 NEW one hour enamel colors available today! I have Overland Green on the way. Not sure what I am painting yet but I will find something...check them out!
One of my favorite tutorials on blending and adding dark wax. It’s been a little bit since I’ve done any videos but I’ll try to do a new one this week.
I ordered these pine legs and needed them to match spalted maple. I had my doubts that I could match it but I used Wise Owl Java glaze and a fine point paint brush to draw lines on the legs. I then stained it all the same color (honey pecan) and put WO satin varnish over it. It still didn’t match so I added WO black walnut wax to the legs. Not exact, but pretty close and I love our new table!
I love the process of painting.
I made this sign because these are all the states Matt and I have lived in.
He always tells us it’s not where we live that makes it home, it’s us being together that makes it home.
I added the bridge because I love the covered bridges and felt like it made sense to have Iowa and Winterset standout in the painting.
I almost painted this white but decided to add some color instead.
Introducing our new Summer 2022 Desert Sunset Collection!
These 7 new Chalk Synthesis Paint colors are available NOW in our brand new 8 oz size and also in pint sizes!
Soooo I’m thinking of using these colors on the vanity just a different technique...similar to the sign I painted this morning, but a little different. 🤔
I’ll probably add some iron oxide and Java glaze to the vanity...

{Mystery Box Challenge}
I was sent a mystery box from Wise Owl Paint containing 4 colors. We were asked to use each color, to mix and create something amazing. I have been so impressed by everything each artist doing the challenge has created and I will be sharing all of those shortly. But I wanted to share mine with you.
I am extremely grateful these colors were sent to me. They came at a time where I was painting so much dark and maybe I felt like I was a little bit in a dark place. But dark can be beautiful too.
These colors jolted my creative vibe and pushed me to think outside the box.
This is the year of the Tiger. I was born in the year of the Tiger. Tigers are leaders, competitive, a symbol or strength and bravery. They are friendly and persevere.
This tiger is bold, brightly colored, and will inspire me during my workouts as it is the main wall in my home gym.
I had so much fun blending mixing and creating with these four colors. Possibilities for color combos are endless. I highly encourage you to try creating using these colors whether it’s all four or even two. And as an incentive for you to do that, I am offering 20% off on them until next week. Go and create. 👊🏼
The sign I painted on Wise Owl Paint page this morning. I may have kept painting after the live ended.
These are the colors I used on this dresser. You can create so many colors with just these four beautiful colors from Wise Owl Paint. I’m amazed at all of the artisans who were challenged to create with these colors and I’ll be sharing some of their work over the next few days.
Now through April 8th, you can get Charleston Green, Mandarina, Prussian Blue and Rocksteady at 20% off. Get one or all!

Our basement is not a walkout so although it’s a great large space, it was gloomy. I painted the longest wall with Wise Owl’s One Hour Ceramic - Snow Owl. There’s not much natural light here so I figured I needed the whitest white to brighten up this space. I also decided whatever wall decor I painted it needed to be bright and so I ended up with this abstract boho art. The wall art is all painted with chalk synthesis paints and heavy metals copper.
Finally Finished.
I used the products sent in the mystery challenge box from Wise Owl Paint. This challenge was about creating different colors from the products sent.
It’s hard to believe this is done with Four Colors + White. I am very grateful for this challenge and the opportunity to learn that came along with it. I learn so much every time I paint.
