Singer / Songwriter / Producer In an age when wispy cynicism is en vogue, Levitin's earnest, raw lyricism sets her apart from the crowd.

Growing up in the city of Chicago, she didn't initially aspire to be a pop-rock recording artist, but an eclectic love of jazz, early aughts radio hits, and expressive ambition led Rachel Levitin to pick up her first guitar as a tween. As the ordinary and extraordinary traumas of early adulthood crashed down, Levitin channeled her grief, optimism, and growth into her lyrics. A move to DC in 2005 i

LAST CHANCE TO VOTE! And I must extend my gratitude!
I'm so grateful for everyone who has reached out confirming that they've placed their votes for WITTY BANTER for BEST POP ALBUM and CURIOUS for BEST POP SONG. I am *SO PROUD* of these songs, of the people who helped bring them to life, and am *SO GRATEFUL* to all of the teachers, friends, fans, and family that have encouraged me since my tween years to pursue my passion for music and performing.

Right around when I started songwriting, my father was very ill and eventually had a heart transplant on NYE 1999. At the time, I was just a kid obsessed with TRL on MTV, the latest CD from my favorite artists, and the Disney Channel in Concert shows.

Starting to write songs at that time and age is what helped me to emotionally cope with life's heaviness and unlocked a desire to to express myself through art, especially in song.

Writing songs has always helped me process my feelings, understand my emotions, and connect with others on a deeper level. I'd love to celebrate nearly 30 years of formal study of musical instrument performance and over 20 years of songwriting by securing a spot as a finalist.

Thank you for all of your support all these years!!!

Public voters determine the finalists in each category and voting ends January 15. If you've got the time and want to try and help me see how far we can take these songs in consideration for the Washington DC Area Music Awards, you can place those votes here https://wammiesdc.awardsplatform.com/

Jeff Goldblum is a treasure and I feel so lucky to have seen him in person. He’s hilarious, whip-smart, charming, musically gifted, and I could’ve listened to him ramble on forever and ever and ever. Good news is… he’s bound to tour again soon since Wicked For Good, in which he sings, is due out later this year. Perfect little day in Chicago.

And just like that… Strength DriTri number two is in the books. And in the three year anniversary of my getting surgery on my right arm for a torn labrum. I am having so much fun and am so grateful for good health, for a caring support system, and for being consistently encouraged to challenge myself. Thank you to and for rooting me on at , none of it would be the same without you there! šŸŠšŸ§” PS - my 500th OrangeTheory class is this Wednesday. So, it’s time to celebrate šŸ„³šŸŽ‰šŸ¤˜šŸ”„

PICTURE THIS: Imagine it’s golden hour in July. You’re in Tuscany by the water. You’re on vacation, thousands of miles away from responsibilities, free to rest your mind, and go on an adventure. You’ve just finished dinner after a long day outside enjoying the many splendors that nature has to offer. It’s time to head back to your residence to sleep for the night, but... to get there... you’ll have to drive an hour or two during sunset to reach your destination. There you are, coasting along with the windows down and wind in your hair, the pastel colors cascading across the sky like a watercolor painting. The residual warmth from the sun’s golden glow hits your skin, you smile in response, in gratitude for nature’s kiss upon your forehead. That’s how I want you to feel while listening to ā€œCurious,ā€ lIke you’re wrapped up in comfort, relaxation, joy, and peace.

šŸŽ‰ Releasing new music on dates associated with special occasions from my past is something I like to do because it serves as a benchmark to measure growth and is a nice reminder of just how far I’ve come since first starting to play instruments, writing songs, and then singing those songs in front of people as a tween… right around the same time I was preparing for my bat-mitzvah! For example, I released my album ā€œWitty Banterā€ on my birthday of March 21, 2024, which was a dream come true. So, it stands to reason that the next song I release to launch my life’s next chapter is going to be a contemplative, melancholy ballad with optimistic undertones called ā€œCuriousā€ on the 25th anniversary of my bat-mitzvah, April 15, 2025. ā€œCuriousā€ is about exploring past experiences as one chapter of life ends and feeling comfort in finding the confidence to keep growing as the next chapter begins. Like a seed becoming a tree, it takes awhile to grow roots, branches, limbs, and leaves. But, it’s also like some of greats have sung before us, ā€œā€¦the best has yet to come.ā€ šŸŒ…
