PROGRAMS

Chaski launches its new program Words & Other Wild Things! Bramble - Kingfisher - Adder - Newt - Raven. These words conjure pictures of wild things and untamed spaces but get shortchanged in modern urban life. The words themselves fade from our vocabularies when the natural world is less present in our daily lives. In music and poetry, Chaski retrieves these words and images in Words & O

ther Wild Things. This program draws from Chaski’s rich repertoire of classical, Celtic, Latin American Folk, and other genres to celebrate the words that connect us to nature. Words & Other Wild Things is inspired by the Robert Macfarlane/Jackie Morris illustrated book of poetry, The Lost Words. Chaski shares donations from this concert with Central Texas Library System. Chaski specializes in accompanying the choral works of acclaimed Argentine composer Ariel Ramírez. These include: Misa criolla, Navidad nuestra, and Misa por la paz y la justicia. Modern Dance Collaboration
Chaski joins award-winning modern dance company Psophonia on stage for an interactive music/dance performance. In Concert
Chaski performs from its eclectic, multi-genre repertoire. Programs may include: Latin American and Celtic folk music, contemporary works, early music. Bicentennial of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice
Enjoy a romp in the playground of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice with selections from Playford's English Dances and other delightful tunes! "It is your turn to say something now, Mr. Darcy." Exploring the Folk Music of Latin America
Drawn from Chaski's vast repertoire of folk music, this program promises musical fun guaranteed to enthrall even the most fidgety with amazing instruments, colorful costumes, and audience participation. (About 45 minutes)

Celtic Celebration
Breathe deeply and soak in the soothing and delightful sounds of Celtic, Irish, Scottish, and English music with tunes such as Earl of Breadalbane's Birthday and The Kirkoswold Reel. (About 30-60 minutes)

If you use Chaski as your travel agent, you will enjoy a crazy mix of tunes from odd corners of the planet, played on a delightful assortment of instruments. Well, mostly flutes and harps. Possible yodeling included.

Thirty years ago we played at this beautiful lady's wedding💕! I don't have a copy of the photo that she showed us of us at her wedding, but it was definitely us! What a treat to see her again!
