My girlfriend never informed me that we had broken up

I discovered it when she started referring to me as "Big bros."

The first time she did it, I attempted to call her, but she didn't answer and because it was late, I let it go.

Later, when I checked my WhatsApp, I found a message saying, "Good afternoon Big bro, sorry I missed your call."

“Bro ke, aunty who’s your bro?”

She just replied with lol

I thought it was a joke until the next day at the office, I decided to call her to hear her voice and then I ended with, “I love you.”

She said, “Thank you sir, God bless you.”

I was mad with rage

Immediately, I entered my car and drove straight to her house.

I wanted to catch her red-handed because I suspected she would be with another man, which was the reason she couldn’t say "I love you" back to me.

As I expected, I noticed a black Toyota Camry parked outside and immediately it confirmed my fears that she was with a man

A man… in the house I’m paying rent for!!!

Without even bothering to knock, I forcefully pushed the door open

Lo and behold, brothers and sisters, my own girlfriend was kissing a man

Not just any man but an army officer built like VDM!

All the fight in me disappeared and I stood speechless

She recovered from the shock faster than I did and said, “Caretaker, good afternoon sir, ah ah, we weren’t expecting you today.”

The huge VDM looking army officer looked at me, I looked at him and then at her…

I smiled and said, “Yes o, Oga landlord said I should come and check if everybody is okay but since you’re busy I’ll come back later. Let me see the other tenants.”

“Okay Oga caretaker, please shut my door on your way out.”

“Thank you ma, bye bye sir.”

I left quietly and shamefully, and drove back home because I couldn’t go back to the office again

As soon as I entered my house, tears bursted out uncontrollably. I was crying like a baby.

My wife came immediately and hugged me, she too started crying with me while encouraging me that everything will be fine.

As she was encouraging me, the tears increased because I knew everything will not be alright. Right now a wrestler looking army officer is knacking my girlfriend in the house I’m paying rent for.

I screamed and cried harder while my wife held and comforted me. She cried with me and told me whatever was troubling me will pass and I’ll come out stronger.

Fear women!

The older I get, the less surprised I am by people and the more surprised I am by situations.

There’s this popular serial entrepreneur on my followers list that also doubles as a motivational speaker

She’s very successful with a large following and always goes on talkshows, radio shows and podcasts to talk about youth empowerment and self reliance

I was shocked when she messaged me one day to ask for the price of the jewelries and wristwatches I posted one time

I gave her the price list and she asked for my account number without even negotiating

Omo see doings na. Sharp sharp I sent it

Later that evening, around 9pm I got a notification I checked the name and it was from her

Quickly I opened my WhatsApp to confirm payment so I can plan to waybill the items to her address

Instead of payment receipt, I saw something else... her nak3d pictures.

Like different angles of her brezz & puci. There was one she was even licking and sucking her own nipu

I was shocked!!!

Then another chat dropped; “Daddy, I’ve sent the pictures. Pls send the 5 million cos the vendor has sent the account number. Love u babe!

Meanwhile everything she ordered from me was just 250k

I didn’t know what to say I just kept looking and looking and looking for over 10 minutes expecting them to disappear but they didn’t

15 minutes later, and the pictures were still there so I had to reach her.
I typed, “Good evening aunty, you sent this to the wrong person but they’re nice. Thank you.”

I had to be polite and nice so she won’t feel too embarrassed. Few seconds later, all the pictures disappeared and then series of chats and audio messages started dropping. She was apologizing and begging me to please delete it if I saved it

Later she called me again to apologize and I told her it’s fine. She started explaining that it’s for her family gynecologist in the US and since she couldn’t travel she had to send it

Few hours later I chatted her up and asked her if the money has entered

She replied which money?

I said the 5M

She said why am I asking her that stupeed question

I said because i didn’t hear from her again regarding the items she wanted to buy

She didn’t reply instead she blocked me

So I chatted her with my other business line. I just sent three pictures of her brezz and puci then my account number again, and told her the price of the items has increased. Now it’s 2.5M

Few seconds later I got alert of 2.5M

To all the Daddies empowering and enriching our female entrepreneurs and influencers, I say Happy Father’s Day to you all. Thank you for this amazing opportunity you’ve given me.

God bless you wherever you are, Daddy. I love you too.

Would this bother you or am I overthinking it?

My wife and my sister are very close.

They just connected when my wife and I started dating, and what started as friendship quickly became genuine sisterhood.

Before long, they were talking every day, sharing secrets, spending time together, and behaving like they had known each other all their lives.

Sometimes I joked that my sister spoke to my wife more than I did.

Things became even more special when my wife got pregnant just one month after my sister did.

From that moment, they became almost inseparable.

They attended hospital appointments together, went for scans, blood tests, antenatal classes, and supported each other through every stage of pregnancy.

The excitement in the family was unbelievable when we discovered they were both expecting girls.

My wife and I had actually chosen names long before we knew our baby’s gender. We had a name ready for a boy and another ready for a girl.

So the day we found out we were having a daughter, her name was already decided.

Jahnasia.

One afternoon, while discussing baby preparations, my wife casually mentioned the name to my sister.

“We’ve decided on Jahnasia,” she said proudly.

My sister smiled and replied that she and her husband had chosen Ruth for their daughter.

Imagine our shock when my niece was born and they announced her name during the naming ceremony, it was the exact name we had chosen for our baby girl

Jahnasia!

Since that day, things haven’t been the same

My wife feels deeply hurt. She says the issue isn’t even the name itself anymore. It’s the fact that my sister never once mentioned that she intended to use it.

She believes that if my sister truly wanted the name, she should have spoken to her about it first.

My sister, however, insists there was no bad intention.

According to her, she simply fell in love with the name. In fact, she says she thought it would be beautiful if both girls shared the same name because of the special bond she shares with my wife.

To her, matching names would symbolize the friendship they built, and perhaps even a lifelong connection between the two girls.

But my wife doesn’t see beauty in it. She only sees betrayal.

Meanwhile our girl’s naming is just a few weeks away. She says we either choose a new name or there will be no naming ceremony.

The problem is that I don’t want a new name.

To us, Jahnasia became our daughter’s name even before she was born. We never prepared a backup. We never wanted one.

Now I’m stuck between two people I love.

I don’t know what to do. Is a name worth fighting over or is there something much more deeper between them than just the name itself?

My girlfriend has a gift. Honestly, I don’t know where she got it from.

That girl can compliment somebody and completely change their mood.

We’ll be somewhere minding our business, and she’ll just look at a random lady and say, “Ah, your hair is beautiful.”

Immediately, you see the person’s face light up.

One day, we went to buy food at a fast-food restaurant. The girl attending to us looked tired and uninterested. My wife looked at her and said, “I really like your hairstyle. It suits you.”

The girl’s face changed instantly.

She started smiling from ear to ear. In fact, she almost abandoned the other customers and focused on us. I stood there watching this miracle happen in real time.

Another day, we stopped at a pharmacy. There was a young lady standing outside.

My wife admired her dress and told her how lovely it looked.

The lady was already looking sick and exhausted, but the moment she heard that compliment, her whole face brightened.

I realized something that day.

A sincere compliment is a powerful thing.

Now me, In the past, I have complimented a few ladies and guys, and somehow things didn’t end up well for me

So I made a decision… From now on, I would only compliment elderly women.

What could possibly go wrong?

There is an elderly woman in our area who sells agbo. She should be in her sixties.

Every time I passed her stall, I would greet her.

“Mama, your smile is beautiful.”
“Mama, you’re looking younger every day.”
“Mama, this your hairstyle is fine o.”

The woman would laugh and laugh.
Sometimes she would even clap her hands and say, “Thank you, my son.”

One day I added, “Mama, abeg, which cream and soap you dey use?”

She laughed. “Why you ask?”

I said, “Because I wan buy am for my girlfriend. Mama, you too fresh. You look like Sweet 16.”

The woman laughed so hard she nearly dropped her Agbo jedi-jedi.

From that day, anytime she saw me, she would be smiling from afar.

One afternoon, I saw her standing with a girl who looked around late twenties

I asked,“Mama, who be this?”

She said, “My last daughter.”

I looked at both of them. Then I shook my head.

“Mama, na lie. This girl cannot be your daughter. She looks like your younger sister.”

The old woman laughed until tears entered her eyes.

I was proud of myself.

Until later that night.

Around bedtime, I heard a knock on my door.

Kpom. Kpom. Kpom.

I opened the door and there stood Mama. She was holding a container of Vaseline in one hand and black soap in the other.

She was tying only wrapper across her chest and wearing nothing else!

I froze.

“Mama… good evening.”

She smiled then raised the Vaseline and black soap.

“Na the soap and cream be this.”

I blinked.

“What soap and cream?”

“The one wey you ask me. You say you wan buy am for your girlfriend.”

I started stuttering. “Ohhh… okay… yes… thank you, Mama.”

I stretched my hand & collected them.

Mama looked at me then she said, “Oya, open the door.”

I said, “Open the door ke, why?”

She replied casually, “I wan sleep here nah.”

My soul left my body

I said, “Mama, sleep where?”

She lowered her voice. “No dey call me mama, my name na Fidela or FiFi. Then she pointed inside. “There nah. Sebi you like me? Me too, I like you very much o.”

I laughed nervously.

She was not laughing.

Then she continued. “Light no dey my house and I no fit sleep because of heat and mosquitoes.”

Ah. I couldn’t allow her enter firstly because her daughter, the one I met earlier was inside & secondly, even if I was alone, I’ll rather be kidnapped by band!ts and let them use me than have segz with an old poor woman

“Mama my wife and baby are inside?”

She hissed; “Which wife? When you marry?” No be your girlfriend comot for afternoon with her bag for weekend?”

“Mama, I swear, she don come back. She dey inside.”

The woman folded her arms.

“No tell me that thing again o make I no lay curse on you. If you no want make mama swear for you now now, open the door make I enter inside, breeze don dey too much for this outside.”

I witnessed something small but provocative today.

On my way back from the office I stopped by a popular mama put along my route to buy food. Her food is always very delicious and affordable

As I stood at the queue waiting for my turn, a young fine fair complexion girl was trying to buy food too. She kept counting the money in her hand over and over, it clearly wasn’t enough.

The woman selling the food watched her for a few seconds, then quietly added more to her plate and said, “Don’t worry aunty, you can go.”

The girl just stood there for a moment like she didn’t even know what to say.

I don’t know why, but that moment touched me very deeply.

Immediately I reached into my pocket too. The food I came to buy costs around 3,000, so I reached in and brought out two 500 naira notes and started counting it over and over like the girl

The woman selling looked at me for a few seconds in surprise and next thing she hissed a very long and loud hiss and told the person behind me to come and place his order

When I realized she wasn’t going to help me too because I’m a man, I just shook my head in disappointment and brought out my card to pay for my food.

In a country where everyone is trying to survive, some people still choose to be wicked to us, men.

Na woman do man!

I got a text on New Year’s Eve from an unsaved number.

Out of curiosity, I called, and it turned out to be an old friend from the days of 2go.

She was a girl I used to toast back then. I had invited her several times to visit me in school, but she always had one excuse or another and never showed up.

After reconnecting, we started chatting every day on WhatsApp. She now lives in Lagos with her sister and is looking for a job.

One day, I asked her how she was doing, and she said she wasn’t fine.

“Why? What’s wrong?”

As a man, once a woman says she’s not fine, run o! Asking what’s wrong is your first mistake.

Immediately, she replied:

“I’m hungry. I haven’t eaten since morning.”

I said, “Go and eat na.”

She replied, “No money…”

She was still typing when I blocked her.

Continuing that conversation would have been the second—and biggest—mistake of my life.

I drove my car to the car wash for a thorough cleaning and steaming

Adjacent to the car wash is a cozy bar where you could relax and wait.

I took the opportunity to enter the bar and unwind while I waited for the guys to finish washing my car

After a couple of minutes, the attendant called my attention, indicating that my car was ready.

As I was about entering my car, I saw a small girl carrying a tiny bucket of water and struggling to walk

It was hard to tell if she was very small in stature or still a baby

What shocked me was that she was about to cross the busy road with the bucket, while her mother stood on the other side carrying a larger bucket on her head, with a newborn strapped to her back, shouting at her to hurry up.

I smiled at the little girl as our eyes met, took the bucket from her, held her hand, and helped her cross the road.

Then I followed the mom and we walked till we got to their house just around the corner

The mom was so happy, she thanked me and prayed for me

I smiled and as I turned to leave she begged me to wait and before I could even respond or react she ran inside the house

I hope she’s not about to pay me or give me food o, I was thinking

The next thing, she came out carrying two 25-litre jerrycans and handed them to me.

“Oga, abeg help me fetch these ones too. Abeg make I quickly cook for my husband.”

I was stunned. I didn’t know how to react!

I heard a sound & turned around. Sitting outside was a young, fully grown, heavily built man, shirtless, drinking alomo & smoking w**d.

Immediately, I knew he was the husband.

In that moment, I paused and locked eyes with her for a few seconds. Then I turned around, walked back to my car, got in, and drove off.

I asked my husband to help me shave because I’m heavily pregnant and could barely reach, and becauseof that, I’m itchy and miserable

Next thing he went and put on a nose mask, gloves, and dark shades… dressed up like I have Ebola

I felt so insulted and embarrassed and he said I’m taking things too far that it’s not that deep.

This is the same man who, before I got pregnant, would eat and suck me down there like a thirsty dog. Now, because I’m pregnant and needs his help to shave, he’s treating me like an infection.

What’s more upsetting is that I know if the situation were reversed I would help him in a heartbeat no questions asked

Well, since my husband finds my puci disgusting to shave, I’ll punish him by letting the handsome bachelor next door do it.

Yes, I’ve seen the way he looks at me even in my condition, so I’m sure he won’t need protective gear to help me down there.

Since I was born, I had never seen so much bl00d spilled like I saw two nights after my wedding to the love of my life, my husband and bestie.

Before we got married, we were best friends.

We did everything together.

From watching the same movies, loving the same music, and even supporting the same football club.

Chelsea, of course.

In fact, at some point, people actually thought we were twins, not even a couple, because of how close we were.

We wore matching clothes, loved the same musical artistes, and even played games together.

From board games to video games, our love was inseparable and very unconditional.

I loved this quiet, gentle, and smart young man who found my drama arousing and never complained about how competitive I was.

Until two days after our wedding.

I had never seen this side of him before.

The aggression, violence, and lack of empathy.

I have always heard that marriage changed people, but I never thought I would ever experience such.

I watched my husband, and his face was different. He wasn’t smiling; he was not even looking at me as he brutal!zed me.

I had never seen so much bl00d spilled before.

He flung me like I weighed feathers, held my neck, and landed a blow right on my face.

Before I had a chance to recover from the bl0w, a ki

There was this colleague who just joined our company. Since she was new, I decided to help her settle in. Partly because I wanted her to feel comfortable, and partly because when I first joined, nobody really helped me, so I knew exactly how that felt.

After a few months, we became very close. She had my kind of humor, so we laughed a lot, joked around, gossiped about colleagues, and even complained about our bosses together.

It didn’t take long for feelings to start developing.

I began liking her more and more. The more I got to know her, the more I realized we had a lot in common. We were both single, and things seemed to be heading somewhere.

One day, I asked if she’d like for us to hang out outside work.

“Of course,” she replied. “I’d love that.”

I smiled.

“Okay. I’ll find time.”

The following weekend, she messaged me.

She said she’d never been to Lekki Conservation Centre and wanted to visit. She also wanted to go to the beach afterward.

Omo, I was happy eh, so I immediately agreed.

That day, I ordered a ride. The fare was almost the price of a GIG trip from Lagos to Abuja, but I didn’t care. Love is blind!

I got to her place, picked her up, and we headed to the conservation centre.

We had fun, took pictures, laughed, and enjoyed the experience. Afterward, I ordered another ride to a beach in Victoria Island.

I paid for the tickets, bought food and drinks, and we settled in.

A few minutes later, she received a phone call.

When she ended it, she turned to me.

“Please, one of my friends wants to join us.”

I said, “Okay, it’s fine. She’s free. The more, the merrier.”

Then she asked if I could also pay the friend’s gate fee.

I hesitated briefly but agreed.

We walked to the gate.

That’s when I discovered the friend was a guy.

I was confused but kept quiet. I paid, and he joined us. Almost immediately, he started drinking from my drink like we were guys and eating my food shamelessly. Before long, the two of them were spending more time together than she was spending with me.

At some point, I found myself alone while they strolled hand-in-hand along the beach, kicking sand, laughing, and playing near the water.

An hour later, I decided to talk to her, so I pulled her aside and tried to hold her hand.

The way she snatched her hand away, you’d think I had Ebola. Then she quickly looked around to see whether the guy had noticed.

I was more confused than she looked. Then she smiled nervously and said, “Kings… um… why are you holding my hand?”

I laughed awkwardly. “Because I missed you. I just wanted us to spend some time together.”

She said, “Miss me ke? Wait, do you think that we’re on a date? Because I’m sorry, but we’re just colleagues. I don’t want my friend to have the wrong idea.”

Omo… I was stunned.

I didn’t say anything. I just apologized for my confusion and allowed her to go back to her friend.

Later, she came again and said she wanted to ride a horse. I said she was free to do whatever she wanted.

She went and climbed the horse happily. Moments later, the guy climbed onto the horse behind her, and the two of them rode away while the trainer guided them.

When they returned, she jumped down, ran towards me, and asked me to pay.

I said, “Pay for what?”

She said the horse ride wasn’t free, and I told her I knew, but why was she telling me?

She acted confused and asked why I was talking like that. But she told me she wanted to ride a horse.

I said, “Yes, you told me. So what?”

She said she didn’t bring any money because why would she? After all, I asked her out.

I told her I didn’t ask her out; she did. So she should have brought money. After all, I’d been paying for everything since.

She laughed a sarcastic laugh, like I must be joking.

The guy smiled nervously and said it was fine, he’d pay. He went out, made some calls, and after about 30 minutes, he finally managed to pay.

After he paid, my ride that I had ordered arrived, and I got up to leave. She looked shocked and asked where I was going.

I said, “Home.”

She said, “But I didn’t even tell her we’re leaving.”

I said, “We are not leaving. I’m leaving. You can stay with your friend.”

It was then she told me that she and the guy were just meeting for the first time. They had actually met online, and this was their first physical meeting. She asked me to wait a little so we could go back together because the guy lived on the Island.

I refused and said she could stay with her date and leave whenever she was ready, but I was leaving right then.

Then she said okay, I should send her transport fare because she didn’t come with any money.

At that point, I didn’t reply. I just entered the car and left.

She sent me some very insulting messages and called me broke and stingy. So I calculated how much we spent, from the ride to Lekki and the beach, to the food, drinks, and tickets, including her date’s own. Then I split it in half and sent my account number.

To my surprise and excitement, she sent the money later that night and blocked me.

Good riddance.

Now she’s telling everybody at work that because I asked her out and she refused, I told her to pay all the money I spent on the date I took her on, and she’s forwarding my chats and her receipts to them.

Now everybody is calling me stingy and wicked, but I don’t care.

I’m just happy that at least I recovered half of my money, and walked away with my self-respect intact.

That’s all that matters to me!
