Today we mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day of memory, responsibility, and commitment to future generations.

As part of our support for the Foundation for the Welfare of Holocaust Survivors, we were honored once again this year to host approximately 20 Holocaust survivors for a special tour, offering them a glimpse into the world of aviation and the work that takes place behind the scenes.

In addition, we are bringing remembrance and commitment onboard our flights as well, as part of the Foundation’s “The Last Letter” project, and in collaboration with the World Jewish Congress through the campaign. During boarding, dedicated slides from the organizations will be presented, and on flights where internet service is available, hot beverage cups will be distributed, with complimentary access to the project website.

We remember. And we will never forget.

We’re excited to announce the expansion of our codeshare partnership with SAS – Scandinavian Airlines, offering you seamless connectivity between Israel and Scandinavia.

Starting January 15, 2026, you can now book direct flights between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen through EL AL Israel Airlines, even when flying with SAS.
As part of this codeshare agreement, EL AL and SAS customers can purchase tickets for SAS-operated flights under an EL AL (LY) flight code and earn Matmid frequent flyer Points and Diamonds on these flights.

Enjoy more convenience, more flexibility, and more options for your next trip to and from Northern Europe.

122 years ago today, the Wright brothers took a short flight that lasted just 12 seconds, at an altitude of 3 meters and over a distance of 39 meters, yet with enough power to open a new era of innovation and dream-making.
It was a groundbreaking moment, following four years of experiments and development, that helped shape the world of aviation as we know it today.

Nearly four decades later, on September 29, 1948, our own journey began.
Our first flight departed from Geneva and brought home Israel’s first President, Chaim Weizmann, a small step in history, but a giant leap in building the air bridge between the newly founded State of Israel and the world.

We are here to keep dreaming, taking off, and connecting people, places, and stories, so you can always feel most at home in the world, in the air and on the ground.

After many years of proudly serving our passengers in our signature uniforms, we’re excited to announce a new collaboration: Renuar will design the new uniforms for our cabin and ground crews.

This partnership represents a natural connection between two leading Israeli brands, both with strong local roots and a growing international presence.

The new design will reflect professionalism, modernity, comfort, and Israeli pride, as part of our broader effort to elevate the EL AL service experience. The project will include an in-depth study of crew needs, on-site consultations, fabric selection, and the creation of tailored designs for each role.

We’re proud to partner with Renuar and confident that the result will capture the essence of our journey in recent years, celebrating Israeli identity while maintaining the highest standards of comfort and quality.

We’re so proud of the Shalva Team, who crossed the finish line today at the New York Marathon, turning personal achievements into a shared act of giving.
