Sorry you had to wait so long for this one 🤍
This hotel series moves slowly... not because it’s planned that way, but because life gets busy and content has to wait its turn sometimes. 😅 And why do I bother at all? For a simple reason that most hotel content you see is about flashy, expensive places... and let’s be honest, that’s not the reality for many of us (it’s definitely not mine 😉).

So instead, I share stays that make sense for a low-to-medium budget. Places that are comfortable, practical, and realistic for people who actually live here & look for places to host family & friends, those who visit often, or come to Doha for specific reasons.

Premier Inn Education City (not to be confused with Old Airport one which I haven't visited yet!) is the star of today's post.

If you’ve been waiting, thank you for your patience! Looking forward to my next visit and another hotel review! 😍

Happy New Year everyone! Onwards and upwards! 🥰

Continuing with my "hotels that won't break your budget" series!

Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town is a budget friendly version of a brand people trust, and it didn't disappoint: modern, colorful, and full of thoughtful little touches that make a short stay feel like an actual break.

Another solid find for my series and a proof that comfort, convenience, and great service don’t have to come with a 5-star price tag. 😊 Swipe left on the slides to find out more!

Time for the second part of my budget friendly hotels series! One of the coolest discoveries I’ve made in Doha lately, and a place that even many of the long-term Qatar residents have no idea exists.

Treffen House is… well, let’s just say it’s seen things. The building is older than me (and that’s saying something 😅), but, for me, that’s part of what makes it special. There’s something about staying somewhere with the "creaky charm", and a view that makes you forget how many glass towers we’re surrounded by.

Perfect proof that you don’t always need shiny and new to have a good stay, and sometimes a little character goes a long way!

You’ve heard me tease it for weeks and now it's finally here (sorry for the delay!): the budget-friendly hotels in Qatar series! 🥳 If you’ve ever asked, “Joanna, where do I book without selling a kidney?”, this series is for you.

Our first stop is Centro Capital Doha by Rotana: modern, spotless, welcoming, and proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune for a great stay in the city.

Stay tuned for more!

It’s the age-old Qatar rental dilemma:

✔️ Go furnished = easy move, instant setup, but hello mystery stains and sketchy furniture vibes.

✔️ Go unfurnished = freedom to choose your own style, but also goodbye savings because now you own 17 lamps you don’t actually need. 😅

I broke down the pros & cons so you can decide what fits your life (and your sanity) best. Swipe to see which team you’re on!

So now you tell me… would you rather deal with a landlord’s questionable sofa or the pain of buying everything yourself? 😎

I could probably write a book about all our exciting experiences revolving around renting a property in Qatar. Between 2012 and 2023, we've lived in 6 or 7 different places (can't even remember precisely anymore 😆), covering a variety of neighborhoods and budgets.

I've done a more comprehensive post about this in the past, so now I'll make a few covering the gruesome details 😂

First up: all the creative ways for landlords & agents will to try to milk you for money, and what to pay attention to. Plus, the less exciting stuff like utility bills 😅

I'd love to hear your stories about the extra expenses you had to bear related to renting, as a warning for others (or for the fun of sharing 😉).

Because self-care isn’t just about spa days and scented candles (though we love those too) -it’s mostly about small, doable moments that keep us sane 😁

In this post, Yasmina and I are sharing our very own self-care rituals:

💛 The little things that make her day better.
💛 The little things that make my day better.
💛 And the things we both swear by.

Plus a few “quick fixes” for when your schedule is so full that your only spa time is folding laundry.

Swipe through for ideas, then tell us in the comments: what’s your go-to self-care ritual that actually works? Because we're always looking for ideas 😉

So you're moving to Qatar. Or you're already here and contemplating The Move (you know, the one where you swap your current location for a place that you hope will finally tick all the boxes 😁).

Welcome to one of the great expat debates: Doha or Lusail? I tried to (somewhat dramatically) break it down for you: pros, cons, and some in-between moments nobody tells you about. 😉

Share with someone who needs advice (or a laugh 😎)
