Tag Force Series 2 is here and goes live TODAY at 1200 US CDT at TAGFORCE.COM.

- All Series 1 tags are discounted through the end of the weekend.

- Very limited numbers of the non-solid tags for all 3.

- The full sets all contain at least 1 stencil, decal, etc tag.

- The bullseye full sets contain 3 easter eggs and are fulfilled randomly. To qualify you need to buy a full set on release day.

These releases are so much fun and a rad way for us to share the story of military components that aren’t manned aircraft.

Each Tag Force series (of 3 tags) is themed. Series 1 was “Cold War.” Series 2 is “Flight,” and features things that flew or were dropped from aircraft. Series 2 tags were cut from 3 different components: an MAU-91A/B Snakeye bomb fin assembly, an MQM-107 Streaker Target Drone, and an ADM-20 Quail decoy missile. The Quail may be familiar as it was previously a JET EYES tag. We’ve been updating our JE tags to the block 2 spec, and the Quail is better suited to Tag Force with JE being exclusively manned aircraft.

Quail:

The GAM-72 (later ADM-20) was an air-launched decoy cruise missile designed to clutter Soviet air defense radars in the event of a US launched strike. The missiles were launched from B-52 Stratofortresses, had a range of 445 miles, and could travel at 0.9 Mach. Up to 8 Quails could be carried in the B-52 weapons bay. On radar, the Quail was indistinguishable from the B-52, forcing Soviet aircraft and defense systems to target multiple contacts, reducing the likelihood of B-52 losses.

The Quail tags come in 4 variants: Silver, USAF, Red, and Fuel Tank (green). All tags except the Fuel Tank were cut from exterior skin. The USAF tags were cut from the USAF decal on either side of the missile. The Red were cut from the plane of rotation stripe. All tags have been laser etched.

Streaker:

The Beechcraft MQM-107 is a ground-launched aerial subsonic target drone that began development in 1972 and was introduced in 1984. It was primarily used by the United States Air Force for practice air-to-air engagements and by the United States Army for surface-to-air target practice. Production of the Streaker ended in 2003. A total of 2,236 MQM-107s were built.

Sometimes you get lucky, and this part was purchased at a local military surplus store. The owner is a friend and contacted me when it walked in the door. The rest is history. It was originally orange, but the paint has faded. We do not know for certain, but this drone was more than likely shot down.

The Streaker tags are offered in 3 variants: USAF, Roundel, and White. All are exterior skin. The USAF and Roundel tags were cut from decals on the top and bottom of the wing.

Snakeye:

The MAU-91A/B Snakeye bomb fin assembly is used on the Mk83 and other general purpose bombs. It can be dropped in a high-drag or low-drag configuration. During low altitude bombing runs, the fin’s high-drag configuration allows adequate time for the dropping aircraft to clear the blast area prior to impact.

This fin was something we picked up on trade several months ago. It was extremely tricky to harvest useable material from, but we managed to get 175 thick tags from the drag plates (fins).

The Snakeye tags are offered in 2 variants: Stencil and Green.

The tags in each series may be purchased individually, or as a full set if you order within the first seven days after the series is released.

The full sets are where all the goodness lies. They are comprised of 1 tag from each of the above (so 1 Quail, 1 Streaker, and 1 Snakeye), and they are priced at 20% off. Tags in a set have corresponding serial numbers (ex. 3,3,3) and every set will include at least 1 of the rarer variants (USAF, Stencil, etc). Additionally, there are exactly 3 “bullseye” full sets that are fully loaded with 3 easter eggs. There are not many full sets available with Series 2.

Thanks,
Ryan

Tag Force was founded in 2024 by the folks behind JET EYES. We cut up surplus government and military vehicles and equipment into tags that can be used as bag tags or collected as neat pieces of history. We started Tag Force to honor other aspects of military and government service beyond aviation, and to create neat artifacts from these historic items.

HOW IT WORKS:

We release a new series of 3 tags on the first Tuesday of every release month. Each series is themed, based on the equipment/vehicles chosen or the era in which they served. Each tag in the series may have different variants and color options.
The tags in each series may be purchased individually, or as a full set if you order within the first seven days after the series is released.

A full set is one of each tag in the series and is priced at 20% off the lowest priced tags from that series. The color or variant of the tags in a full set are random, but we’ve tossed in some special Easter egg tags amongst the full sets. The full sets all come with matching serial numbers, meaning all 3 tags in each full set will have the same serial number (3,3,3 for example). The full sets will also represent the lowest serial numbers for each release.

The number of full sets available for each release will vary, is never published, and is dependent on the number of tags represented by the rarest variant for that release. MOST of the rarest variant for each release will be included in the full sets, with only a couple offered up as individual tags. If the full sets do not sell out within the first week, what's left will be added to the individual tag inventory.

Additionally, each release will feature 3 bullseye full sets. A bullseye full set contains the 3 most premium tags offered for that release. The bullseye full sets are fulfilled randomly, but to qualify for one, you must place an order on launch day (the first Tuesday of each release month).

All tags are cut from surplus government or de-militarized components purchased at auction or scrap/boneyards, and are fabricated in our Pensacola, FL workshop.
