Back in late November, I spent time with Paolo at Sanford's studio, Hypercube, recording vocals and synth for a new long song by The Sodality, which will be released as a single-sided 12-inch, according to current plans. Thanks to Sanford for hosting us and working on another project for The Sodality! //

Please tune in tomorrow, as has invited me to create a playlist for his Fade Radio show. I send a huge thanks to Stelios for his interest in my music and for his patience throughout the process! Hour one will feature his playlist and hour two will focus on a selection of my solo work and my bands. //

From Elastic Arts: Join us to celebrate the Black Friday Record Store Day release of Power to Consume, a double-album tribute to Lou Reed's seminal Metal Machine Music. Headlining the evening is Mark Solotroff, performing in support of his contribution to this landmark release from Sony Music/Legacy Recordings. Solotroff's decades-long journey through underground music explores the depths of sound with analog synthesizers and voice, as the founder of projects like Anatomy of Habit and BLOODYMINDED. His solo work is a sonic landscape of bass-heavy synth compositions that reflect on modern themes of grief and isolation. Supporting Solotroff are three compelling Chicago-based artists. Exhumed Co**se, the solo project of Sam Dour, takes you on a slow-motion descent into subsonic dread with bleak, dark industrial soundscapes built from decaying tape loops and salvaged audio equipment. Black Triangle Badge, the solo work of audio engineer Kenny Rasmussen, crafts unpredictable soundtracks of unease that reflect a world plagued by fascism and hate. Finally, Starvation Cage will deliver a violent, percussive, and unrelenting performance, drawing from the primal brutality of combat sports and the chaos of everyday existence. Prepare for an evening of powerful, uncompromising sound. //

Coming this Black Friday, November 28... With massive thanks to
Metal Machine Music: Power to Consume, Vol. 1 - 2LP
Inspired by Lou Reed’s groundbreaking 1975 noise opus Metal Machine Music, this collection assembles a formidable lineup of sonic provocateurs—Aaron Dilloway, Drew McDowall, Thurston Moore, Pharmakon, The Rita, and Mark Solotroff—to explore the outer edges of distortion, feedback, and raw electronic texture.
Each artist channels the spirit of Reed’s original manifesto of anti-music, pushing their own boundaries through modular synthesis, tape manipulation, harsh noise, and industrial decay. The result is a visceral, immersive experience that celebrates chaos, confronts structure, and redefines what music can be.
