One of my go-to tools? Crossover Symmetry bands. Theyāre simple, effective, and help get your arm ready to move fast and stay healthy.
Show up. Stay consistent. Thatās where the gains happen.

Making sure my identity outgrows the game āØš
When I was 16, I started attaching my identity to softball and my performanceāand it stressed me out so much I honestly didnāt even want to play anymore.
Taking a step back and figuring out who I was outside of the game changed everything. I came back loving softball more than ever, and thatās what led to everything that followedāD1, All-American, records, pro. Finding yourself doesnāt take away from your game⦠itās what elevates it. Itās what helps you with the tough times, the lows and all of the character building that we know all too well with sports.
If I can help you with one thing this week, itās to focus on something else that you love. Take a moment, even just 20 minutes to do something that doesnāt involve sports. Itās only going to help you on the field and encourage you to grow off of it ššš„
Look, you can still do these and maybe never get hurt; but hereās why we stopped for now. I was first challenged on my thoughts about reverse throws vs holds with .sullins10 & and Iām incredibly thankful because it allows me to grow and adjust along the way š š„ ā¾ļø
I like where weāre headed, and hopefully this video shows you itās okay to circle back on something you once thought was helpful and simply be open to improving it.
I can tell you as someone who has injured her ucl in college and sat out for 8 months š© the holds feel amazing on my arm and elbow.

False, wrong, only if I never used them before, I can but itās not smart, wrong, I can but should track fatigue, some of us š«
Okay a little more fun info now these;
Calling something natural doesnāt make it safer. Overuse is overuse. Torque and velo is always going to be a lot on our bodies.
Donāt think I need to dive in on the 450 bros š
Thereās a lot more than just legs in a softball pitching motion, and usually when we try harder to āuseā them more on a pitch we do the opposite. Please donāt overlook your timing, trunk and upper body as a pitcher.
Hurrying and warming up is a dangerous slippery slope. This oneās mainly for youth coaches - give your pitcher time please.
We can hit, and honestly even if you donāt love it I encourage you to keep practicing it for overall athleticism. It only helps your pitching motion and who knows when you might need it in the future.
I threw in 7 games in a row from Saturday morning to Sunday morning at the Colorado Sparkler. Did I get hurt? No. I was definitely sore, blisters and mentally exhausted. Does that mean itās okay? No. Track your pitches, monitor your fatigue and try not to let the will to win a game hurt your future if you want to play in college.
This last one sucks. Lots of softball pitchers will continue to do really well with throwing overhand. Some unfortunately are going to face things like the yips. I believe has some really good insight on this in the baseball community and itās not really talked about how to work on it with softball pitchers. To think we just need to practice it more is quite the misunderstanding too. We practice making plays a lot, thereās usually some deeper things going on. If youāre facing this I encourage you to explore different training modalities, get your body checked out and some cool neurological training š
As funny as these were to make, I think itās just as important to talk about them ā¤ļøš«¶ š„

I was my favorite athlete until he came along š„¹ š
And I mean that in the most humble way ever. Youāve really got to love yourself through it in sports. Yes - I had role models, and so many incredible athletes I can list to this day that inspired me.
As you get deeper into your sports career though there comes a point when you really have to be your favorite person, favorite competitor and biggest supporter. Youāve got to see yourself as your greatest version time and time again; even when you just donāt got it.
As a mom, and a sports mom, I could honestly care less about the trophyās and bragging rights. What I care most about is helping my son light a fire under his confidence and ability to become his favorite person one day too š
Life is hard, sports are tough ā> thereās enough people doubting you out there so make a really good effort not to be one of them.
