Your donations are distributed through the Cowichan Valley Basket Society to the local food banks here in the Cowichan Valley including Mill Bay, Chemainus, Lake Cowichan, and Duncan. Visit them online at cvbs.ca

Donations also benefit Warmland Shelter and the CMHA Cowichan Youth Centre, as well as Cowichan Women Against Violence Society.

What a fantastic month November has been for the team of Elves at Toys Toiletries & Toques

With the amazing help from our Drop Off Centres, the generous supporters and the finest team of volunteers (we call ourselves Elves), we have donations - both merchandise and donations up to the sky!

Just a reminder that the Drop Off Centres are still happy to receive donations right up till noon on Thursday November 28th. (The Royal Canadian Legion Br 134 isn't open on Thursdays so please take any donations in their area to The Third Addition Gifts & Toys in MIll Bay Shopping Centre). The generosity of the Cowichan Valley is legendary. There just aren't enough words to thank everyone involved, particularly every donor.

Get creative with the Gardening Hat Contest! You don't necessarily need a sheep to wear it or have chickens on the hat!😅😂 But there is a theme this year with the children's book "One Smart Sheep"!

Our Fall Fair is coming up on September 13, 14, and 15th! 🚜

One of the fun class challenges in the Hobbies and Crafts Division is the Gardening Hat Contest, which is sponsored by our friends at Dinter Nursery. There are some great prizes to be won!

Get creative with this year's theme - "One Smart Sheep"- This terrific children's story follows Wilson, a very smart sheep, as he ventures into town and makes his way back home.

With this year's theme and colours as inspiration, decorate a hat to wear out in the garden. Grab a new hat, or an old one, make your own, or decorate a purchased hat with this year's theme colours - blueberry blue, snow pea green, and winter white.

The Volunteer Elves met last weekend to start planning for the upcoming holiday fundraiser Toys Toiletries & Toques. This is the 14th annual event where we collect non-food items for the all of the local food banks.
This year's fundraiser runs from November 1st to the 28th ( noon) and we are looking for more volunteer elves - please see the post below.
Also we recently announced our partnership with Cowichan Valley Basket Society - this means if you would like to make a cash donation, you will be issued a receipt ( whereas we couldn't do this in previous years)

Here is an Elves meeting with some Elves! The Elves of Toys Toiletries & Toques are starting to meet to ensure we are dotting every i, and crossing every T to make our 14th annual collection of NEW non-food and cash donations easy and affordable to help folks in the Cowichan Valley enjoy a better Holiday Season/Christmas. Our campaign this year will run from November 1 - November 28 at noon.

We talked about a great line up of Drop In Centres that are returning. We introduced our new Elf Teresa who will eventually take over the Drop Off Centre communication for us, we talk about finding ways to add to our Ticket program, and we welcomed our new Sorting Elf - Janna, who will work with the Elves that can help pick up donations and deliver them to our storing areas every year and also organize our final sorting date before delivery to the Food Banks we have working with for so many years. And then we sat down and ate a great Brunch!
