So close!

We started slowly from Tire World, but once we set off, we simply couldn’t be stopped…. Until 1km from our 13th and final checkpoint, when our unbelievable ‘Lady’ just stopped. Although not enough to win the top prize, we are delighted to have won the ‘Coupe des Dames’ and 3rd place in the ‘Unmodified’ category, coming a fabulous 17th out of 52 starters. And, most importantly, we had SO much fun in unbelievably beautiful Samburu.

Petra, our Great Leader, accurately read the land and the car and the personalities; holding her team firm in purpose with great skill… and chewing gum!

Sabine, our indomitable Driver calmly did what she was born to do, through seemingly impossible situations. “Of course we can do that” was her tag-line.

Emma, our steadfast Navi, lead us with full confidence around a very difficult course which only 4/52 cars managed to finish.

Catherine, our Mechanic, was on hand to deal with bits dislodged by impenetrable bush.

JoJo and Kiki ran and jumped and pulled and photographed and dug and timed and laughed!
