Love comes in many different shapes and forms. For example:
❤️You can love more than one person at the same time.
❤️You can have a different type of love for different people such as your parents, your siblings, your children, your friends or your pets
❤️You can love someone that you don’t know
❤️You can love both men and women whether you are straight or gay
❤️You can love a cause
If you love a cause so much, if you believe in something so strongly, if you want to make a difference in the world, then you belong in a pageant.
A lot of people have asked me, why did I get into pageantry? My focus has always been career and motherhood. I grew up being a book worm and playing sports, and I’ve never been considered one of the “pretty girls”. But pageants are changing, and the Miss United States pageant system that I am part of, emphasizes your platform or the cause that you support rather than just outer beauty.
If you’re looking to compete you need to have a cause and be willing to make a difference in the world. My platform is Healthy Living for Healthy Aging. My life’s mission has always been to improve the lives of my patients, friends and family. I became active on social media to extend my reach to educate and motivate people to take better care of themselves. I advocate maintaining your beauty, health and happiness by living a healthy lifestyle to minimize the need for medication. Whole foods, fitness, mindfulness and friendships have all been shown in studies to improve health and promote aging well.
Being in a beauty pageant is about having a voice, and taking actions to back up that voice. Melinda Gates once said, “A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman.” Meaning that when we believe in a cause, we as women need to stand up and work for what we believe in. Without speaking up about what we believe in, our thoughts and ideas are nothing more, and nothing less than that.
If you strongly believe in something and are willing to stand up and fight for it, you belong in a pageant like Miss West Coast or The United States National Pageants If you want to stop domestic violence, find solutions for homelessness, or advocate for abandoned pets you should look into competing in a pageant.
Being part of the beauty pageant community has been life changing for me. I have developed so many close friendships, learned so much, and have more opportunities to promote my platform of healthy aging as a spokesmodel and title holder. I ❤️ my pageant sisters who are like-minded when it comes to supporting worthy causes. We look for ways to make a difference in our communities. We also support each other, no matter which pageant system we are in.
Today’s pageants are about inner and outer beauty and having the courage to put yourself out there to represent what you believe in. Please reach out to me if you are interested in competing in, or sponsoring pageants.

👑Did you know that first time that women were allowed to formally compete in sports was in 1900 during the Paris Olympics? Here we are over 100 years later and women in sports have accomplished so much!
👑 It’s no secret that my favorite sport is gymnastics. Within gymnastics (and sports in general) women have showcased incredible talents, perseverance, strength, compassion, and accomplished so much. I love being involved in a sport! It helps me stay healthy, be connected to my body, and focus on being my best self. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a girl in sports!

Today’s Maverick Monday post is all about this incredible super hero of a woman I met this past weekend at the conference.

In 1961, Wally became part of the Mercury 13 - a group of women who underwent astronaut screening tests but unfortunately didn’t get to go to space. In 2021, she got her chance to go to space aboard the New Sheppard launch.
.
She was the first female civilian flight instructor at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She has since instructed 3,000 students.
.
Wally has logged 19,600 hours of flight time and she became the first female air safety investigator for the NTSB.

Thank you, Wally for being such an incredible inspiration for all women (but especially those of us in aviation).

This is what real life looks like…

I had the most incredible time at the conference which came just 48 hours after another trip of mine.
.
I’M EXHAUSTED
.
So let’s talk about how today went. I got up at 4am to catch my 7am flight that was delayed by 2 hours because of a mechanical issue. When I got home, I went to the grocery store, called a friend, and put on “Friends” and relaxed. I took a nap without setting alarm, and I ate garlic bread for dinner. 😜
.
But, being Miss United States is my dream job so I’m going to keep going and traveling like crazy. I’ve wanted this title for nearly a decade so I’m cramming years of hopes & dreams into one year… I’ll sleep next year.
.
I’m thankful, I’m blessed, I’m happy, and after having spent the last few days with some incredible, spectacular, trailblazing women, my heart is full and my love for aviation is at an all-time high.
.
So, take time for yourself. Plan a day where you can simply exist without any obligations and do not feel bad about doing nothing during that day.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY’S
Is the journey over?
When you’re crowned a National Queen for the series, it’s an opportunity to open a new door, to a new attentive audience. This is a National audience where you can use your voice to raise awareness for all that you feel needs to be addressed. It requires a lot of planning, organizing, time management and volunteering. I set goals, accomplish them and then set the next goal.
Is the journey over after I’ve passed my crown to the next Queen? Absolutely not. Isabella’s llacqua’s dream was to empower girls/women and groom them for success. That’s exactly how I’m feeling. Im right where I need to be. I’m learning so much. I’m educating so many.
The Queen’s court has named me one of the editors of our upcoming National Magazine and I couldn’t be more proud. I have tons of responsibilities and I’m loving the challenges. I believe Sometimes we all need a push in the right direction. Thank you National Team, for inspiring me, motivating me and teaching me important tools that will help me continue to climb… I won’t let you down.
