Portagrid are excited to announce that after working together with the Cazalys Group for over 5 years, their solar car park array structure project, including Electric Vehicle Charging Stations is now complete!.
Cazalys Group Cairns are considerably reducing their carbon footprint with this system which consists of a 637kW solar array providing shade to 199 carparks. The solar panels are bifacial which means they can harness energy from both sides, reflecting sunlight from the ground as well to maximise energy generation. The construction also includes four-bay electric vehicle charging spaces to satisfy the ever growing electric car consumer base.
Portagrid's owner and Managing Director, Jason Pyne says that there has been an enormous amount of work go into the design of the system to ensure it's not only functional but visually pleasing, practical and of course the energy saving benefits are considerable. The structure will save save Cazaly's approx 31% on their electricity costs, it will provide shade for the customers vehicles as well and provide customers with the ability to charge their electric vehicles.
This system is the first in it's size in Cairns and we are very proud to be part of such an iconic project!
Another Portagrid system on the road!
This pre-packaged 100kWh Standalone Power System which was built inhouse is headed to a pig farm outside of Adelaide, SA to be mated with a 100kW solar array.
Installing this SAPS will create significant CO2 emissions and diesel savings for the operator.

Power to the people!
That's what the Director and inventor of Portagrid, Jason Pyne was inspired by when inventing Portagrid. These systems can support vital Aid Organisations and Emergency Response teams in times of natural disasters.
Power is most often than not a critical utility that is destroyed. This leaves the worlds most vulnerable with little to no access to energy. Portagrid, a green energy solution, can be deployed and installed at a moments notice aiding relief teams and maintaining basic human sanitation needs.
