We are excited to have Caleb Alexander-McKinzie to discuss current housing laws in Arkansas at our upcoming housing symposium this week, “Sculpting the Housing Landscape in Arkansas: Current Conditions, Future Opportunities” on June 20 and June 21. Caleb practices municipal law and provides local governments with legal counsel, training, policy development, and a variety of other services.

Caleb is a graduate of UA Little Rock’s William J. Bowen School of Law and is the president of Arkansans for Stronger Communities, an organization that advocates for more equitable tenant protections and safe, affordable housing. He also volunteers heavily with The Van, a local non-profit providing resources and assistance to the unsheltered community, facilitating emergency shelters during inclement winter weather, and advocating for those experiencing homelessness.

We are thrilled to have Audra Butler from Communities Unlimited as a speaker for our upcoming housing symposium "“Sculpting the Housing Landscape in Arkansas: Current Conditions, Future Opportunities” on June 20 and June 21! Audra is the Area Director of Rural Housing for Communities Unlimited. Her work is focused on efforts that will help to close the information gap between urban and rural housing issues, as well as creating a portfolio of impactful initiatives that address the unique challenges and opportunities within rural areas, including the expansion of the DreamBuild Volumetric Modular Housing model into rural and persistent poverty communities in the South.

Audra is a non-profit leader and program director with more than a decade in subsidized and affordable housing leadership and homeless advocacy. Audra formerly served as the Interim Director and Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Fayetteville Housing Authority and its component non-profit development, FHA Development, Inc. Audra also served as the Chief Operations Officer for Community Programs at ARVAC, a community action agency in central Arkansas, directing operations in nine counties and expanding the organizations homeless services and transitional living program. Audra is a current member of the ACHANGE Board and Co-Chair of the ACHANGE Public Policy Committee.

Chris is President of ManufacturedHomes.com & ModularHomes.com and recently contributed to three published studies by the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard, comparing the cost of site-built housing to manufactured housing, and overcoming obstacles in siting factory-built housing.

Chris Nicely has 30 years’ experience in factory-built housing and management. With a proven track record, he has collaborated with industry leaders, non-profits, developers, and municipalities to leverage factory-built housing for positive community development in cities such as San Bernardino, CA; Phoenix, AZ; LaGrange, TX; Danville, VA; Jackson, MS; and Detroit, MI.
We are thrilled to have Codney Washington as an upcoming speaker at our housing symposium "Sculpting the Housing Landscape in Arkansas: Current Conditions, Future Opportunities" on June 20 and June 21. Codney is the founder and Director of WE Center WE Build and will be discussing modular homes in Arkansas. WE Center We Build's goal is revitalize inner-city areas by constructing affordable homes, built by participants of their vocational training programs. These homes are typically constructed offsite, using the modular home concept, to offer better supervision, training opportunities, and to mitigate cost, throughout Pine Bluff and throughout the region where affordable housing is needed.

Codney Washington is the founder of Washington Enterprises construction company, which evolved over 5 years into We Center We Build. WE Center WE Build offers NCCER courses and certifications specializing in framing, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and excavation. Tyler is a VP on HOPE’s Corporate Strategy team and led the Climate and Energy Initiative that resulted in HOPE’s $156 million “Solar for All” awards as a state-level applicant in Arkansas and Mississippi. Prior to joining HOPE, Tyler practiced law and served as a SME and Director of Compliance for a New Orleans-based software company.
