Yesterday in NYC, I was lucky enough to attend the Salesforce Convention on AI, Data, and Generative AI yesterday… My highlight you are wondering?!?

I got to watch and take a photo with Einstein bike riding in the woods, and other “all natural” settings and backdrops at the latest Salesforce Convention in NYC.

While they organized and presented their latest and greatest offerings for the Life Science, Healthcare and Medical Device industry, they did so with the backdrops, settings and ambiance of an all natural, woods and campgrounds setting.

Various vendors and strategic partners for their offerings were in attendance at the Jacob Javits center, on the West side of NYC, overlooking the beautiful Hudson River on a magnificent sunny day!

The one day conference was held on April 25, 2024.

Be on the lookout for some of their product launchings and partnership opportunities coming up over the next couple of months.

Wise words for all people in business…

As you head into a new week pay attention to your thoughts. Are your thoughts life giving or are they taking away from your quality of life? You have the power to change your thoughts and ultimately change your life.

Yesterday (10/31) I was honored to be the lead-off presenter at the Fall 2023 Business Operations Intensive Workshop, a half-day virtual series of workshops specialized for Columbia teams who have graduated from one of the Lab-to-Market programs and are eager for guidance on growth strategies.

Session topics included:
- Program and strategic development for early-stage medical device companies led by Gregg A. Jackson (SVP, Strategic Business Development Director at Gershon MedTech)

- An alumni roundtable discussion on navigating successes and pitfalls of the NYC Life Science entrepreneurship ecosystem featuring Andrea Nye (President & CEO of Xylyx Bio, Inc.) and Charles Rodenkirch, PhD (Founder & CEO of Sharper Sense)

- Best practices for building a management team and establishing board structures led by Don Rose (Venture Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners)

- Perspectives on potential directions for projects outgrowing university labs led to Derek Brand (Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships & Development at Columbia Office of Research)

We were thrilled to host a number of L2M alumni and Columbia Technology Ventures affiliated teams!

I just wrote and published this blog, and thought some of you might find this interesting. These graphics on “Digital Innovation - Transformation into the Healthcare Ecosystem” are now posted along with my blog on this topic, and I'd love to hear all of your comments.

I prefer to keep the patient as the actual and final customer, with their quality of life being the goal of the transformation. Digital Transformation for the sake of digitization and efficiency alone is short sighted, and must be done with the patient's quality of life being the end goal.

Mentoring at the 2021 Harvard Medical School and MIT Medical Hackathon for Diabetes Type 1

I was very excited and feeling privileged to be invited back to help with this! Especially for something as critical and important as Type 1 Diabetes.

The program is a hybrid virtual/in-person format at the Gordon Hall, Harvard Medical School on October 30-31, 2021.
Winners will have the opportunity to present their innovations to Roche and Novo Nordisk executives, and will be supported by the GC-CDiC to design and scale their innovation.

I am so excited and privileged to work again with the Harvard School of Public Health this weekend, and MIT Hacking Medicine.

Teams of innovators will be tackling innovative solutions to address Type 1 Diabetes as a country priority in one of the following: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Myanmar or Pakistan.

The good news is that you can still sign up to participate in the Harvard University School of Public Health hackathon on Digital Innovations to Improve Type 1 Diabetes, particularly for children and adolescents.

I am excited to attend this! The Future of Healthcare is more magnificent then anything we could ever imagine! With the advent of connected solutions, digital therapeutics, digital health technologies, AI, ML, VR and holographics, we will begin seeing the results of over a century of Science Fiction and Science Fantasy merging with the biggest technological revolution in the history of mankind.

The list of speakers is amazing, and one of the speakers I am most excited to see will be my friend and colleague Dr. Daniel Kraft.
