So, as some of you have seen me posting some of our rescue stories and asked me about them….

I’m showcasing some of our “HOME
OFFER RESCUES”

These horses were adopted at a lower fee and allowed to go “home” and the adopters do the rehab.

We are with these guys every step of the way, they never do it alone.

Some people love the bond and the work it takes to rehab, some like the lower fee, whatever the reason is- we still protect these horses with a contract and buy back.

This is one program we offer that has helped lighten our load a little bit but still allows us to continue to help.

Not everyone qualifies for a home offer horse and you also have to be willing to put in the work, listen to guidance, and deal with me more than you would normally 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I have many more stories to share, just watch 🥰

Some horses change lives, but sometimes little boys change horses. ❤️🐴

When Sonic first came home, he was in rough shape. Thin, worn down, and carrying the weight of a hard past, he looked nothing like the horse standing proudly in the show arena today.

What happened in between wasn’t luck.

It was a little boy who fell in love with a big red horse.

It was feed buckets, grooming sessions, treats tucked into little hands, vet appointments, long days, and a family committed to doing whatever Sonic needed to heal.

Horse rehabilitation isn’t fast. There are no shortcuts. It’s a collection of small moments that most people never see. Showing up every day. Trusting the process. Believing in an animal when progress feels slow.

This family did exactly that.

Looking at these two pictures, it’s hard not to get emotional. One shows where Sonic started. The other shows where dedication, patience, and love can take a horse.

The ribbon is nice.

But the real win is seeing Sonic healthy, strong, and carrying the little cowboy who helped change his life.

We’re incredibly proud of this family, and we’re pretty sure Sonic is proud of them too. ❤️

Sometimes the biggest transformations happen because a little boy decides a horse is worth fighting for. 🤠🐴❤️

The Heart Behind the Transformation ❤️🐴

These photos are a powerful reminder that rescue isn’t magic.

The horse in the bottom photo didn’t become the horse in the top photo overnight. This transformation took dedication, patience, consistency, and love.

Today, we want to recognize Logan for the incredible work she put into rehabilitating Teller. 💙

When others see a healthy, happy horse, they often don’t see the countless feedings, grooming sessions, health checks, training days, and moments of simply showing up when no one is watching. They don’t see the commitment it takes to look at a horse in rough shape and believe in what they can become.

Logan did.

She invested her time, her energy, and her heart into giving this horse a second chance. Because of that commitment, this horse was able to heal, regain condition, build confidence, and become the beautiful horse standing proudly today.

Rescue is rarely glamorous. It’s hard work. It’s dirty work. It’s emotional work.

But moments like this remind us why it matters.

Thank you, Logan, for seeing the potential, putting in the work, and proving once again that second chances change lives. 🐴❤️

The difference between these two photos isn’t just time. It’s dedication.

🐴☀️ HELP US STOCK UP ON SUMMER SUPPLIES ☀️🐴

The summer heat is here, and with it comes some of the most expensive months of the year for horse care. Today, we’re asking our amazing village to help us reach our goal of $1,800 for essential summer supplies for the rescue horses. ❤️

This fundraiser will help provide:

🌾 Alfalfa
🌾 Grain
🩺 Supplements
🪰 Fly spray
🪣 Daily care supplies

Summer brings increased nutritional needs, relentless flies, and the ongoing costs of keeping our horses healthy, comfortable, and thriving. Many of the horses in our care are seniors, special needs horses, or are recovering from neglect and require additional support to stay healthy.

At Freedom Valley Rescue, we don’t receive government funding. Everything we do is made possible through the generosity of people who believe every horse deserves a second chance.

Whether you can give $5, $25, or sponsor a larger portion of our summer supply needs, every donation helps ensure these horses continue receiving the care they deserve.

✨ Goal: $1,800
✨ Purpose: Summer grain, alfalfa, supplements, fly spray, and essential horse care supplies

If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this post can help us reach someone who may be able to lend a hand.

Thank you for standing beside us, believing in our mission, and helping us provide a safe, happy future for the horses who call Freedom Valley Rescue home. 🐎❤️

🐴❤️ Let’s have some fun today!

If you could save ONE horse right now, what would you name them?

Drop your answer in the comments! 👇

Bonus points if you tell us why you picked the name. 🐎✨

At Freedom Valley Rescue, every horse that comes through our gates gets a second chance, but sometimes the perfect name is where their new story begins.

We can’t wait to see your ideas! 💕

🐴❤️ A dream is starting to take shape at Freedom Valley Rescue... and it's so much bigger than an arena.

We are building our Second Chance Arena, a space where healing, connection, and community can come together.

One of the programs we are excited to launch is called Senior to Senior. 🌾

Imagine local seniors spending time with our senior rescue horses. Sitting in the sunshine. Sharing quiet moments. Offering a gentle brush, a soft pat, or simply enjoying the company of an animal who understands what it means to grow older and still have value.

Many of our senior horses arrived after being forgotten, discarded, or overlooked. We believe their stories still matter, and so do the stories of the seniors in our community. ❤️

This arena, along with the future barn, will allow us to host programs like Senior to Senior, educational events, clinics, community gatherings, and other opportunities that bring people and horses together.

🎉 We are incredibly grateful to MFA for becoming our first committed donor toward this project. Their support is helping turn a dream into reality, and we couldn't be more thankful.

🏗️ We are still seeking $7,500 to complete the arena project.

We would love to partner with local businesses, organizations, and community members who want to help create something truly special for both people and horses.

Would your business like to join MFA in leaving a lasting impact on our community?

📩 Send us a message to learn about sponsorship opportunities and how you can help bring the Second Chance Arena to life.

Together, we're building more than an arena.

We're building second chances. 🐴❤️

🚨 Unpopular opinion:

Rescue horses don’t need perfect people.

They don’t care what kind of truck you drive, how much money you make, or how many followers you have.

They care about the person who shows up. ❤️

The one who fills the water buckets.
The one who hauls the hay.
The one who sits quietly in the pasture when trust is still a work in progress.
The one who refuses to give up on them.

Some of these horses were discarded when they were no longer useful.
Some were neglected.
Some were one trailer ride away from a future they didn’t deserve.

Today they’re safe.

Today they’re loved.

Today they’re proof that a second chance can change everything. 🐴✨

If you believe every horse deserves kindness, drop a ❤️ in the comments and help us remind the world that rescue horses are not broken.

They’re survivors.
