We often get asked: What is the difference between bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder?

While they share certain symptoms in common, they are separate and distinct conditions which require very different treatment modalities in order to have the best outcomes.

Bridges to Recovery provides our clients with a comprehensive assessment to ensure they receive an accurate diagnosis, so that treatment plans can be optimized to provide the most benefit for each individual.

What is post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how is it treated? For many of us, it's a "buzzword" or a term with which we are familiar but not entirely sure what it means or who is affected by this often-perplexing condition. Although we may not fully understand it, most of us have had a traumatic experience, or been touched by PTSD through a loved one, friend, coworker, or neighbor.

PTSD is a widely recognized mental health disorder that causes individuals serious symptoms that can be debilitating and make normal functioning seem impossible. Post-traumatic stress disorder may occur soon after a traumatizing event, or an individual may feel they have recovered only to find the trauma still lingering and develop PTSD months or even years later.

Healing from PTSD: Although there is no cure for PTSD there are options through intensive treatment to heal and move on from traumatizing events. The approach to treatment should be tailored to each individual. Our clinical team at BTR specializes in diagnosing and treating complex psychiatric and emotional issues. We provide compassionate and effective care in a serene residential setting so clients can focus on their treatment and recovery without the worries of external pressures and stressors.
