We also provide seminarians with the skills they require to become priests so that they can communicate the positive messages of Christ that we share. We want the world to learn our skills and understand the power of communication in Solomon civil society, and to build on our capacity, resources and knowledge to complete these tasks.

Today, the Catholic Archdiocese of Honiara joins the universal Church in giving thanks to God as we celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Episcopal Consecration of Archbishop Christopher Cardone, OP.
We thank God for his dedicated shepherding, humble leadership, and unwavering commitment to proclaiming the Gospel throughout the Solomon Islands and beyond.

Archbishop Chris Cardone, OP, invites all members of the Catholic community and all people of goodwill to join in the Corpus Christi Processions and the Celebration of the Holy Mass at the National Stadium on June 7th. The Sunday Mass will begin at 9:00 am.
All parishes from Ruavatu on the eastern side of Guadalcanal to Visale on the western side of Honiara, including all Mass centers within these areas, will not have their usual Sunday Masses on that day. Everyone is encouraged to gather at the National Stadium to celebrate Corpus Christi โ Latin for โThe Body of Christโ - in this special Year of the Eucharist.
As Archbishop Cardone will be away, the Principal Celebrant will be the Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Peter Chele, and the preacher/homilist will be Rev. Fr. Dr. James Ereai.
All priests are warmly welcome to concelebrate.

Today, 31st May 2026 on Holy Trinity Sunday, at the 11:00am Mass at Holy Cross Cathedral, the Form 6 students of St. Joseph Tenaru and the seminarians of Holy Name of Mary Seminary took the lead in the liturgy in preparation for the upcoming Feast of Corpus Christi Mass to be held at the National Stadium.
This will be the first-ever Corpus Christi celebration to be held in such a large gathering, marking the Year of the Eucharist 2026. The celebration is expected to bring together Catholics from across the Archdiocese, from Ruavatu to Visale and the surrounding areas, in a powerful witness of faith, unity, and devotion to the Holy Eucharist.
