A new law makes affordable child care easier to find 05/05/2023

It was a team effort. A Tulsa family child care home provider taught me that localities have restrictions on their businesses beyond what our state requires. A woman who lives in Philadelphia told me other states have laws preventing localities from having limitations. I shared this idea of a bill with Representative Schreiber. She agreed to sponsor it and did a lot of talking with her fellow legislators about why it was a good thing. It passed the House. A Senator sponsored a similar bill. It passed the Senate. The Governor signed it. Participating in this was the best civics course ever!
