Some happy news to share - it was such a lift to learn that I was nominated for an award as a “Visual Artist of the Year” for my work on the Honesty album artwork. The artwork brings together beautiful images by and my own lumen prints made with honesty seedheads and various textile bits and bobs. The beauty & poetry of the lumen print is that the image created comes from letting light pass through an object on photo paper. The work of this album was also to shine light through painful memories, to find some semblance of growth on the other side.

A few slides show some glimpses into the artwork. Congratulations to all the nominees!

When you find an old creaky pump organ in an old church, you simply must sing a song with your sister.

“Relived” sits at the heart of the album, the first track of “side b” if you listen to Honesty on vinyl. It was the most gut-wrenching but beautiful song to record - all live-off-the-floor, and we recorded take after take until I felt I had completely turned myself inside out. I’ve never released a song where I’m actually crying through most of the vocal take. But it felt right.

It still feels so vulnerable to have this song released and able to be heard by anyone - a song that was once my deepest held story. Sharing it has also unleashed something inside of me, and I hope it has for you too.

Some sparkly news on a blustery day — We’re totally honoured to be listed in the “Best of 2025” list for “Best Canadian Albums” - and in excellent company. Meghan LaPierre writes:
“In addition to them recreating the cloudy murk of shame with haunting indie rock on tracks like “Relieved,” the Cazzolas also capture the beautiful fragility of the healing process, willowy string timbres coming together through the cracks where the light gets in.”

In addition to this, and thanks to the magic of google alerts, we’ve also learned that “Haunt” has been listed in Paul Corby’s “Top Songs of 2025” - alongside one of our childhood icons 🥹 xoxo

We also learned that we are officially music that “hip university students” listen to thanks to Concordia’s CKCU radio station’s 50th anniversary article - happy anniversary folks, and thanks for your support!

It feels really good to feel the continual support of this album - thank you all for listening and feeling it out!

〰 Celebrating 3 months of Honesty 〰
Friends, it has been a wild ride sharing this new music with you. We’ve been quiet for a bit because this work is intense and healing is a continual process.
We wanted to pop online today to remind u that we love u and also it is bandcamp friday! It is the perfect time to buy the album if you haven’t already.

❄️moment of transparency ❄️
We’ve gone over the finances from our album release tour, and found that merch & album sales accounted for HALF of our tour revenue (***we broke even, barely). We’re so grateful to you for supporting us at our shows so generously. Just wanted to share this cool data so that you know how things shook out and so that you know that you made it possible and that buying merch from artists is cool & nice & fun.

We sold out of our merch shirts after 2 SHOWS so we scrambled to thrift & print more for the remaining shows. And we only have 4 left 🤍 if you’re pining for an honesty shirt - head to the website! We have more CDs and limited vinyl left, and a couple pairs of honesty earrings. We will ship them out as soon as Liv is back from her tour with

We’re still healing over here - hope you are too 🤍

FMO 2025 ✨ This past weekend we showcased for our community, and it felt SO GOOD to be seen and respected by fellow folkies ❤️ We were totally floored when we received a mid-set standing ovation - and then another at the end. (!!) The cavernous ballroom room was full of people who were truly there to listen and take in what we had to offer and that is a gift we will always carry with us.

We were also able to offer workshops on mending, web witchery and spreadsheet skills, and attend awesome panels like the one in Slow Touring. Our favourite showcases included & . We shared some heart-time with dear folk friends and even got to attend the very first ever folk-acquafit class thanks to and !

We hope you’re all able to rest well after this intensive weekend. Sending big love to each and every one of you ❤️

Just like that, our tour is complete ✨
Being with you folks at these shows has proven how palpable and integral human connection and heart-opening can be. To every single one of you who came out to an (or multiple! 💗) Honesty Album Release Show: ✨thank you✨

It all feels surreal right now, and I’m sure we will have more reflections to share soon.

Today is a special one: not only are we stepping out of tour-mode, we are also celebrating the release of 2 of our band members’ new music!! Congratulations to our dear Jill Sauerteig on the release of her VERY FIRST SINGLE!! It’s what’s playing in this post: “Cold Call” by S a u e r.
AND, congrats to for releasing the cast recording of Ursa: A Folk Musical under the artist name alongside our pal !
We will have these on repeat all the way home ❤️ and hope you will too!

Big love to all,
Liv

👀behind the scenes👀 of our album release tour - captured by
The East Coast leg of our tour has wrapped up, and we are all experiencing our own forms of exhaustion and elation. We packed 6 humans and all of our gear into 2 Prius V’s and spent 3 immense evenings sharing this music with some beautiful humans.

Anita: I’m sitting at home now, in awe of how a body and a mind can experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in such a short time frame. It feels incredible to be sharing this music and these stories with people who really hold it - in the room, and beyond. But the repeated breaking open of stories that were once my deepest held secrets has shaken me to the core. Catharsis holds hands with frailty. So now it is time to tend, rest, and recover.

Grateful that we get to rest for some time before heading to Montreal on Oct 16 to play at with
Then off to the conference in Ottawa

Be gentle, friends, and see you soon.

Somewhere between the pie raffle and the patchwork of loaned gear to make our Bear River show dreams come true, I (Liv) fell even more in love with this village 💗 It was such a treat to be embraced by the community that Anita and Sam belong to now, and it felt that much more warm and loving to perform here. Thank you for *showing up* and *helping out* with such enthusiasm, Bear River sweeties!

Tonight: we are amping up the sister-power as we share the stage with at in Dartmouth! Big thanks to for presenting this show 💗

And then SATURDAY we get to return to Fredericton and play alongside *another* sibling group, ! Thanks to and for helping to put this show together 🥰
