Hello, and welcome to Handcrafted By Paul. By choosing to follow this page you will get to see photos and videos of projects I'm working on in the shop.
Got the kitchen remodel all done! It's amazing what some paint and caulking can do to a space.
Here's a look at my kitchen remodel. A lot of work has already been done. I still have to make the counter top, back splash, and finish painting the cabinets. Really liking how it's looking so far
Well, after lots of work the shop is finally ready for projects! There's still a lot of things I have planned for this space, but for now it's good enough to start building. It's so nice to have a bigger space for woodworking that I can call my own.
Here's an update on everything I did on the garage so far. I reshingled the roof, updated the electrical, installed shop lights, and insulated the walls. I recently finished hanging all the drywall and now I'm on to mudding all the seams. Can't wait to get back to building furniture.
For those who don't know, I recently bought a house with a detached garage. The plan is to turn the garage into the workshop. It certainly needs a lot of work, but I'm excited that I have a space I can make my own.
Here's some more photos of the finished white oak tv cabinet. Definitely enjoying designing and building these furniture pieces compared to the smaller projects I mainly did in the past.
Well, its finally done!! more photos coming soon.
Update #3 on the white oak tv stand. This certainly is a lot more challenging and time intensive than the projects I've done in past years, but I think that's important. It's important because I'm challenging myself and as a result becoming a better woodworker. I don't plan on stopping any time soon so I wanna learn as much as possible about the craft. Next is to make two more shelves, make the doors, and add veneer to the underside.
Back panel for the entertainment center is all done! This may be against a wall most of its life, but I still wanna take the time to make it look nice. Hole in the middle is for wires to pass through.
Here's a look at my current project, a white oak tv stand. There's still a lot of work to do but it's coming together nicely.
I still have to attach the top but, other than that this white oak coffee table is done. Joined with castle joints and through mortice and tenons. It's always so rewarding and fun making a project with no screws.
Here's a look at my current project. A white oak coffee table with castle joints. Pretty fun build so far.
Finally done with the maple and red elm desk!! Of all my years of woodworking this has to be the project I'm most proud of. It is put together with bridle joints, floating mortise and tenons, and kreg screws. Also, I did veneer and installed Blum drawer slides for the first time which was a fun learning experience. What a fun project!
Update #2 on the desk. Got the soft close drawers fitted and installed. Next is to veneer the maple panel to the cabinet then on to finish prep.
Here's a look at my current project, a maple and red elm desk. Still a lot of work to do but I'm excited with how it's turning out.
Using up some extra oak and epoxy to make a modern end table. Will be ready for finish today.
Finally finished the bathroom vanity for my parents 🎉🎉. It features finger joint drawers, soft close doors, and words of wisdom engraved on a drawer. They are pretty happy with it and that's all that matters.
After what seemed like hours I finally got all the drawer slides installed. I always seem to struggle with installing these, but thankfully they out of the way.
Slowly making progress on the end table. The construction is pretty much done. Next is to sand every piece, it's much easier to sand when it's still apart rather then after it's been glued together. Also, I'm loving how this plywood table top is looking.
By flipping every other piece you end up with this really cool pattern for the table top.
Jolly good day! Well, after over a month I'm finally back In the shop. I didn't have anything to build so I wasn't even in the shop, which felt really weird. But I'm back to building! I'm working on a small end table, with the pattern plywood look.
All done with my parents Christmas gift, new bathroom cabinets. These are pretty much the same size and design as the old ones, except these are blue. Now I have to figure out how to put these under the Christmas three.
Cabinets are coming along nicely! After some sanding I can start on the doors
Day 3 of the cabinet build. Next, step is too cut the back panel. I'll install that at the very end to make it easier to apply the finish. Just can't decide if I should paint the cabinet doors or just do a clear coat.
As a Christmas gift to my parents I'm remaking the old bathroom cabinet that I've been seeing my whole life. It works ok as is, it's just pretty ugly and out dated.
