Lumiere Durham 2025-
This is a short film compiled from the snippets of iPhone footage I have from my Flutter Installation at Durham Lumiere Light festival last week. Obvs best enjoyed in person, but hopefully this gives you a little taster of the experience

“A glowing swarm of butterflies swoop through Crook Hall inviting you to step out of the city and reconnect with the natural world. Study the different species and patterns up close or peer through the kaleidoscope to surround yourself with colourful butterflies. Flutter celebrates the beauty of biodiversity and invites you to explore the National Trust’s nearby Green Corridor, which inspired this artwork.
The Durham City Green Corridor follows roughly 10.5 km (6.5 miles) of the River Wear, extending northeast from the city’s edge near Crook Hall Gardens. Their mission is to encourage biodiversity and provide accessible spaces for people to escape into the wild.
With Flutter, Allen aims to bathe the viewer in the collective light of the swarm, also known as a “kaleidoscope”, and then usher you on to continue your journey through the Durham City Green Corridor”

Any folk here in Switzerland - next week I'm excited to be exhibiting a brand new projection mapping commission in the beautiful city of Lucerne at the Lilu Lichtfestival Luzern- a free public light festival with installations all around the city- I'm number 15 on the map 'Bear Trouble'.
I'll be in the city 6-10th Jan. Pls pop by. The whole festival looks stunning is on until the 19th Jan

Next Week is Lumiere Durham and I'm super excited to be part of it again with a new commission, combining my animation with projection mapping. For 4 days the festival will light up all over the centre of Durham, it's free to attend, and it's SO beautiful
