Smoking involves the inhalation and exhalation of smoke created by the combustion of to***co or other materials. This habit has a multitude of detrimental effects on the human body, such as elevating the likelihood of developing cancer, heart diseases, strokes, and respiratory ailments. Moreover, smoking adversely affects almost every organ in the body, leading to various illnesses and a decline in overall health. The environmental consequences of smoking are also significant, encompassing issues like deforestation, the consumption of fossil fuels, and the improper disposal of waste and hazardous substances. Through quiz bee and poster making, we can raise an awareness regarding the harmful effects of smoking.

Redefining Fashion: Where Waste Meets the Runway

The SSG of Abucay High School organized a 'Trashion Show' event, where students showcased their creativity and passion for recycling by transforming waste materials into stunning dresses and gowns, which were held on 12 - 14 - 2023.

The event aimed to:
- Raise awareness about environmental issues and promote a sustainable lifestyle.
- Encourage students to explore their imagination and creativity in fashion design.
- Demonstrate the potential of recycled materials in fashion and runway shows.

The Trashion Show featured outfits and accessories made from recycled or repurposed materials, highlighting the importance of recycling and reducing waste in our environment.

Nicole Goyal represented 7 - Venus (🥉3rd place) (Audience Pick)
Kristine Kyle Losbanos Ami represented 10 - Zeus (🥈2nd place) (Best in talent)
Nicole Casaway represented 9 - Apollo (🥇1st place)

We, the AHS-SSLG will be a role model for their peers. As leaders we possess responsibility, integrity and empathy. The SSG officers are also actively engaged with students and listen to their concerns.

We promise that we will be the voice of the students, ensuring their needs and desires. By organizing regular meetings, forums and discussions, the SSG officers will provide a platform to their peers to express their opinions, share ideas, and contribute to the decision-making process.

The SSLG officers would play a crucial role in organizing various events and activities throughout the academic year. From fundraisers to school events, we will work diligently to create memorable experiences to all students.

We will act as a bridge between the students and school administration. We are responsible for voicing student concerns, proposing improvements and advocating changes that positively affect the overall education experience. By working collaboratively with students, teachers and administrators, the officers contribute to the development and implementation of policies that benefit students and enhance the learning environment.
