Our project is a kind of spectacle depicting the life story of French ballerina Marie-Thérèse de Subligny, in which biographical themes are intertwined with music and dance of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Her professional activity occurred during the reign of Louis XIV, a great admirer of art and literature. During the reign of this king, many theatrical and dance performances took place in the extraordinary setting of the Versailles gardens including with the participation of the sovereign himself. The monarch was a talented dancer and used ballet to create his own image, while at the same time raising the rank of this art. The ballet was meant to show the power of the state, which the king personified.
We would like to share with you this lively allegro from Handel's wonderful Sonata in F major for recorder and basso continuo. In our version, the basso continuo is played exclusively on the cello.

We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with baroque dancer Maria Theresia Mühlbacher, countertenor Armin Gramer, and lutenist Marcin Kranz. 🥳
Together with them, we will be staging our new program as part of the Sichtweisen festival. Rehearsals start this week and we are already very excited! 😊😁
