Global Round Table Leadership
Founded in 2002, Global Round Table Leadership (GRTL) engages people across all sectors in leadership
Contrary to popular belief, showing emotion in the workplace is not a bad thing! In fact, empathizing with your employees and coworkers builds trust and creates a better work environment.
Here are some important tips from the Harvard Business Review that every leader should know:
š” Donāt try to play superhero and immediately offer solutions when an employee is venting. Sometimes, all they need is to feel that their emotions are validated.
š” Learn how to recognize when an employeeās emotional state is making it difficult for them to focus on a critical task. In this case, a solution is necessary. Take steps to help them manage their emotions and determine if further intervention is needed.
Providing emotional support and leaning into our humanity in the workplace is a key element of our Shared Leadership framework, which is why we LOVE advice like this.

Burnout at work is real, and if you relate, youāre not alone. Aflac reports that a whopping 59% of Americans are experiencing workplace burnout! š²
Aside from suboptimal work-life balance, misalignment burnout is an often overlooked cause. As Forbes explains, this type of burnout happens when thereās a āconflict between personal values and organizational culture and an individualās personality and job demands.ā
ā¬ļø That is why we put an emphasis on developing human-centric workplaces with shared leadership practices for teams.
If youāre struggling with burnout and not sure why or how to fix it, check out this Forbes article: https://bit.ly/burnoutarticleforbes
