The objectives of The Goan Charitable Organization are to
1) Help the poor in the community financially, materially and by means of counselling
2) Teach & help Goans, both residents and new immigrants from other parts of the world , about Canadian laws and about living in Canada
3) Promote the advancement of Education
4) Help the poor in any overseas country financially or materially , including in case of medical treatment or disasters

The Goan Charitable Organization is proud to announce its 2025-2026 scholarship winners: Cara D’Cunha (Abilities), Daniel Milone (Community Service) and Ronan Rodrigues (Arts & Science). Each of them has received $2,500 towards their education. We wish our 3 award recipients and those who applied to this year's scholarship program all the best for their school year. A special thanks goes out to Peter & Brenda DeSa for sponsoring these scholarships.

With food insecurity being declared an emergency in Mississauga and 1 in 13 Mississauga residents using Food Banks Mississauga, The Goan Charitable Organization made a donation of $500 to this worthy cause.

Thank you to all of our very generous donors who donated toys and financially to make this year's CTV & The Salvation Army in Canada Toy Mountain campaign a wonderful success. A special thanks goes out to our Goan Overseas Association of Toronto - G.O.A. Toronto friends from the Silver Linings Senior group, Young Families Group and from the Youth for helping spread kindness and happiness to those in need during this Christmas season.

A big THANK you to our incredible volunteers who sorted donated food, personal care products, household items, juice, and water cases at Food Banks Mississauga this morning. Collectively, our volunteers sorted 3,750 pounds of food that will be distributed to families in need.
This initiative, coordinated by Audrey Almeida and promoted by Goan Overseas Association of Toronto - G.O.A. Toronto, was a timely one as yesterday the Mississauga City Council passed a motion declaring food insecurity an emergency in Mississauga. This declaration is a monumental step in recognizing that food insecurity has gone beyond crisis levels and is not a temporary issue.

Another successful volunteer event at Regeneration Outreach Community in Brampton this morning. Thanks Melanie Nazareth for coordinating this event and for Goan Overseas Association of Toronto - G.O.A. Toronto for promoting it. Our team of amazing volunteers made delicious pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, juice and coffee for about 80+ community members.
