"The DEW of Heaven" Pt.1
(Unity)
"Therefore God give thee of the DEW of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine" (Gen.27:28).
"Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the DEW,
as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass" (Deut.32:1,2).
"Behold, how good and how pleasant for brethren to dwell together in UNITY! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the DEW of Hermon, and as the DEW that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life evermore" (Psa.133:1-3).
"DEW" upon vegetation symbolizes fertility and growth. Thus the DEW of heaven will revive and quicken our devotion to Him! It also speaks of the BLESSING of the Holy Spirit; the UNITY of the Spirit, and the Word of God.
Like the DEW which covered Palestine from the mountains of the north to the mountains of the south, so UNITY is to cover (Or, blanket) believers from north to south, east to west.
Jesus is the DEW that brings UNITY and fellowship. When we are in UNITY and fellowship with Him we are in UNITY and fellowship with each other. Notice in Psalms 133 that God commands a blessing on those who are in UNITY.
When we see ourselves and others through His eyes...unforgiveness, offence, and broken fellowship cannot take root in our heart and break our UNITY with each other.
Jesus prayed, "And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy
Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be ONE, as we are. That they all may be ONE; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be ONE in us: that the WORLD MIGHT BELIEVE that thou hast
SENT ME. And the glory which thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be ONE, even as we are ONE: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made PERFECT in ONE (Amp."perfectly united"); and that the WORLD MAY KNOW that Thou hast SENT ME, and hast LOVED them, as Thou hast LOVED Me" (Jn.17:11,21-23).
Jesus Christ, "the Word" of God, is Heavens DEW that covers us. He is the "brightness of glory, and the EXPRESS IMAGE of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power..." (Heb.1:3a).
Jesus represented the Father's thoughts and words, and came to earth "as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass" (Deut.32:2).
The Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus (Lk.4:18) just as the DEW covered the manna, a type of Him who is our bread...the bread of life!
"And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the DEW lay round the host. And when the DEW that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, it is manna (Or, What is this? or, It is a portion): for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the BREAD which the Lord hath given you to EAT" (Exo.16:13-15).
"I am that BREAD of life" (Jn.6:48).
Jesus' intercession in the Garden of Gethsemane was like the DEW, "the drops of the night" (Song 5:
2). We are like "drops of DEW" begotten of the Father of spirits (Job 38:28; Heb.12:9; Ja.3:17,18).
"I THEREFORE, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye WALK (lead a life) worthy of the voca-
tion (divine calling) wherewith ye are called. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep (to guard) the UNITY (oneness and harmony) of the Spirit in the BOND (binding power of peace) of peace" (Eph.4:1-3).
The UNITY of the Spirit was declared by David to be like DEW, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell TOGETHER IN UNITY! It is like...the DEW of Hermon, and as the DEW that descended upon the mountains of Zion..." (Psa.
133:1-3).
The prophet Micah prophesied,"And the REMNANT
of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as
DEW from the Lord, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men" (Mic.5:7).
The Scriptures declare,
"...but His favour is as DEW upon the grass..."(Prov.
19:2b).
"...His heavens shall drop down DEW..." (Gen.33:
28b).
"...and the DEW lay all night upon my branch..."
(Job 29:19b).
"...and when the DEW fell upon the CAMP in the night, the manna fell upon it" (Num.11:9).
"...I will be as the DEW unto Israel..." (Hos.14:5a).
"And when they had PRAYED, the place was shaken where they assembled together; and they were all FILLED with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with BOLDNESS (freedom and courage). And the multitude of them that believed were of ONE HEART and of ONE SOUL ❤️:
neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common" (Acts 5:31,32).

Love..."it seeketh not itself" Pt.1
"Come unto me, all that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take MY YOKE upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find REST unto your souls. For MY YOKE is easy, and MY BURDEN is light" (Mt.11:
28-30).
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are BOUGHT with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (see Gal.3:13; Heb.9:
12; 1Pe.1:18,19; Rev.5:19).
A scholar asks the question, "Did you ever stop to ask what a YOKE is really for? Is it to be a burden to the animal which wears it? It is just the opposite. It is to make its burden light. Attached to the oxen in any other way than by a YOKE the plough would be intolerable. Worked by means of a YOKE it is light. A YOKE is not an instrument of torture; it is an instrument of MERCY. It is not a malicious contri-
vance for making work hard; it is a gentle device to make hard labor light. It is not meant to give pain, but to save pain. And yet men speak of the YOKE of Christ as if it were a slavery and look upon those who wear it as objects of compassion."
(Henry Drummond [1851-1897] Scottish evangelist
and biologist, writer, lecturer)
"...but YIELD yourselves unto God, as those that are ALIVE from the dead, and your members as instruments of RIGHTEOUSNESS unto God" (Rom.
6:13b).
Paul said of love in 1CORINTHIANS 13:5 that it
"seeketh not itself." In Philippians 2:4,5 it says,
"Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind
(Amp."attitude and purpose and [humble] mind")
be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
Thus the "mind of Christ" is thinking of others, as more important than ourselves! It is not hard to give up our rights. The difficult thing is to GIVE UP OURSELVES, and not seek things for ourselves at all.
Here is a quote by Richard Rothe (1799-1867).
"A retrospect of my whole life, from the earliest period of my recollection down to the present hour, leaves me with this impression, that I have been, and am being GUIDED by a gracious and a MIGHTY HAND, which has made, and is making, that possible to me which otherwise to me had been impossible. Oh that I had at ALL TIMES unhesitat-
ingly TRUSTED and YIELDED myself to its GUIDANCE!"
"Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Let this same
ATTITUDE and PURPOSE and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility]" (Phil.2:4,5 AMPC).
Love...(God's love in us) does not insist on it's own way, nor is it selfish or rude...Love has good manners and does not pursue selfish advantage!

"The Inspired Book" Pt.2
"And the tables were the WORK of God, and the
WRITING was the WRITING of God, graven upon the tables" (Exo.32:16).
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (2Pe.1:20,21).
"Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch WROTE from the MOUTH of Jeremiah all the WORDS of the Lord, which he had spoken unto him, upon a ROLL of a BOOK" (Jere.36:4).
"Yet I heard the VOICE of His WORDS: and when I heard the VOICE of His WORDS, then I was in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground" (Dan.10:9).[Also see, Exo.4:10,15; 34:17; Jere.7:27; Hos.1:1;Hag.1:1; Zech.1:1; Mal.1:1]
The Bible is the Word of God, and it unites God and man. He reveals Himself in scripture to mankind to bring us into UNION with Himself. It is a revelation written by UNITING Divine and human in a unique way. The Bible is God's Word clothed with humanity. The Bible has a Divine touch making it infallible and a human touch making it understand-
able.
Forty different men wrote sixty-six books in three languages over a period of sixteen hundred years and have it become ONE HARMONIOUS BOOK is humanly impossible. The UNITY and progression of THOUGHT with the absence of contradiction tells us that the Bible had ONE AUTHOR...God!
This fact is supported by phrases such as "God said" which are found over three thousand eight hundred times. God is the AUTHOR of Scripture, and the Bible is His Word...all achieved through the miracle of inspiration working through man without detracting from its perfection of Divine Truth.
Jesus Christ is the Word of God, the sum total of everything God has said to man. He fulfilled the cry of the Father as the Scriptures declare, "Oh that my words were now WRITTEN! Oh that they were printed in a BOOK!" (Job 19:23).
In the "volume of the BOOK" it was WRITTEN of Him..."Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and THY THOUGHTS
which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine EARS hast thou OPENED: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come in the VOLUME of the BOOK it is WRITTEN OF ME" (Psa.40:5-8).
The apostle John declared of Jesus the LIVING WORD, "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could contain the books that should be written..." (Jn.21:25).
Those with the "Lamb's Nature" are written in "the
BOOK of life," (Phil.4:3; Rev.21:27). The Scriptures declare that, "the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written (Or, enrolled) in heaven..." (Heb.12:23).
As believers and followers of Jesus Christ we are to be LIVING EPISTLES, known and read of all men,
"written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the LIVING God" (2Cor.3:1-3).
We are to study the Word of God in two ways: with the Bible, and through the Word made flesh in God's people...the Church is the on-going incarna-
tion of Christ. The prophet Malachi declared, "Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a BOOK of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who THOUGHT on His name" (Mal.3:16
Amp).
The revelation of Jesus Christ is being WRITTEN in the hearts of a people commissioned to GO throughout the earth (Rev1:11), declaring, "the BOOK of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev.13:8b).
Jesus said, "These are the WORDS which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be FULFILLED, which were WRITTEN in the LAW of Moses, and in the PROPHETS, and in the PSALMS, concerning Me."
"Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,"
And Jesus said, "Thus it is WRITTEN, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to RISE from the dead the third day: And that REPENTANCE and
REMISSION of sins should be preached in His NAME among ALL NATIONS, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are WITNESSES of these things" (Lk.24:44-48).

"The Inspired Book" Pt.1
"All scripture is given by INSPIRATION of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all GOOD WORKS" (2Tim.316,17).
In this verse "inspiration" is the Greek word
"Theopneustos" and means, "God-Breathed." God breathed into Adam the breath of life and He became a living soul.
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and BREATHED into his nostrils the BREATH of life (Or, Spirit of life); and man became a living soul" (Gen.2:7).
"Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed any thing, seeing He giveth to ALL LIFE, and BREATH, and all things" (Acts 17:25).
"But there is a spirit in man, and the INSPIRATION of the Almighty (Shadday) giveth them UNDER -
STANDING" (Job 32:8).
The dry bones of Ezekiel's vision needed the BREATH of life, "...but there was no BREATH in them..." (Ezez.37:8,9). Jesus "BREATHED" upon His disciples on the morning of the resurrection, telling them to receive the BREATH of the Spirit of Life! (Jn.20:22).
In the natural inspiration is the "act of drawing air into the lungs; inhalation; the act of breathing into."
In the Scriptures it speaks of INSPIRATION as, "the
influence of the Spirit of God on the mind and soul of man; the Divine influence exerted on the writers of the Scripture, by which they are instructed."
(Collins Graphic English Dictionary).
The Webster's dictionary defines INSPIRATION as,
"the supernatural influence of the Spirit of God on the human mind, by which the prophets and apostles and sacred writers were qualified to set forth Divine truth without any mixture of error."
The Bible is an INSPIRED book...not just any book!
The Bible is not man's thoughts about God...it is God revealing Himself and His purposes to mankind. All that may be known of God in this present life is FOUNDED IN and UPON the Scriptures. In the "Written Word" God has revealed
His nature, character, being and the purpose of our existence, and His plan of redemption and salvation for His creation!
Through-out the Scriptures God likens His Word to many symbols that are used to reveal to us a unique fact of "God Breathed Truth" that is "profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's
will in thought, purpose, and action" (2Tim.3:16
Amp). Read the Scriptures, understand the Scriptures, and then BEHAVE ("DO")the Scriptures!
"And the Word of God was made flesh, and DWELT (tabernacled) among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (Jn.1:14). The written scripture reveals the PERSON of Jesus Christ. The symbols in scripture that speak of the Word reveal a living and eternal God...the Lord Jesus Christ! The symbols listed speak of His nature, character, attributes, and ministry...may we surrender to Him as the Living Word made flesh in us!
The Word is like Fire...It burns, cleanses and purges all that is contrary to its Holy Standard
(Jere.23:9).
The Word is like a Hammer...It smashes and demolishes evil (Jere.23:9).
The Word is like a Lamp...It's an instrument of light and illumination in darkness (Psa.119:105).
The Word is a Mirror...It reveals to us what we are and what we can be in God (Ja.1:23).
The Word is like Milk...It nourishes the young in Christ (1Pe.2:2).
The Word is like a Rod...As a measuring instrument it is the Divine standard in all matters of faith and behavior (Rev.11:1,2).
The Word is like Seed...It is a germinating, life producing Word, and has the potential of ETERNAL LIFE within it (1Pe.1:23; Lk.8:11; Ja.1:8).
The Word is like a Sword...It is sharp and two-
edged in its operation, separating the things of the flesh and the spirit (Heb.4:12).
The Word is like Water...It is life giving, refreshing and a cleansing agent (Eph.5:26; Jn.15:3; 17:17;
Psa. 119:5,9).
The Word is like Gold...It is of priceless value. The Bible is an inexhaustible gold mine where one can dig out treasures for ever (Psa.19:7-10; Job 28:1; Prov.25:2).
The Word is like Honey...It is sweet to the taste (Psa.19:10; Rev.10:10).
The Word is like an Ox-Goad...It is an instrument which prods the oxen into fulfilling its duties (Eccl.
12:11; Acts 9:5).
The Word is like a Nail...It is fastened in a sure place. We can safely hang things on it (Eccl.12:11).
The Word is like Bread...It is the staff of life, ever fresh, and meant for DAILY CONSUMPTION!
(Mt.4:4; Deut.8:3; Psa.119:103; Isa.55:10; Exo.16).
The Word is like a Pearl...It is a precious gem, and of great value. Though formed in darkness, it has the colors of the rainbow when brought to the light
(Mt.7:6).
The Word is like an Anchor...It holds us in safety through every storm (Heb.6:18,19).
The Word is like a Star...It always guides us to Christ (2Pe.1:19; Rev.2:28).
The Word is like Meat...It is strength for the mature
(Heb.5:14).
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of FIRE, and on
His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His NAME IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD"(Rev.19:
11-13).

"Bethel...The House of God" Pt.2
"And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him. And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel ("house of God"),
and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and CALLED UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD" (Gen.12:7,8).
"Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now SHARE CITIZENSHIP with the saints (God's own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself): and YOU BELONG to God's [own] HOUSEHOLD" (Eph.2:19 Amp).
"Having therefore, brethren, boldness (liberty) to ENTER INTO the HOLIEST by the BLOOD of Jesus, By a new and LIVING WAY, which He consecrated
(Or, new made) for US, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; And an high priest OVER the HOUSE OF GOD" (Heb.10:19-21).
Jesus Christ is "the House of God"...the God of Bethel and the GATE of Heaven. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (Jn.14:6).
He is the STONE anointed with oil. He was the House that the Father lived in, the Word made flesh (1Pe.2:5-7; Jn.1:14).
"How God ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with POWER: who went about doing good, and HEALING all that were oppressed
of the devil; for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38).
The Scriptures declare, "For it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fulness dwell...all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Col.1:19; 2:9).
Jesus Christ is our CONFIDENCE, the ROCK upon which we are built (Mt.7:24).
Both individually and corporately, we are "the House of God"..."the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth" (1Tim.3:15b).
Each of us is "like a green olive tree in the house of God" (Psa.52:8). Just as Jacob met God again, we "found Him in Bethel, and there He spake with us"
(Hos.12:4).
We are the TEMPLE of the LIVING GOD who promised to DWELL IN US and WALK IN US. He is our God, and we are His people (2Cor.6:16).
"And let us ARISE, and go UP to Bethel; and I will make there an ALTAR unto God, who answered me in the day of distress, and was WITH ME in the WAY which I went" (Gen.35:3).
Thought for the day:
"Bethel...The House of God" Pt.1
[God's Declarations]
"And Jacob went out from Beersheba ("well of oath"), and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a CERTAIN PLACE and TARRIED there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the STONES of that place, and put them for his pillows,
and lay down in that place to SLEEP. And he dreamed, and behold a LADDER set up on the earth, and the top of it reach to heaven: and behold the angels ASCENDING and DESCENDING on it.
(Gen.28:10-12).
"And Jacob awaked out of His sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this PLACE; and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this PLACE! ("How to be feared and reverenced is this place" Amp.) this is none other but the HOUSE of God, and this is the GATE of heaven. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and SET it up for a PILLAR, and POURED OIL upon the top of it. And he called the name of that PLACE BETHEL ("The house of God): but the name of that city WAS called Luz ("perverse") at the first" (Gen.28:16-19).
"Ye also are LIVELY STONES, are built up a SPIRITUAL HOUSE, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ" (1Pe.2:5).
The experience of Bethel is a revelation. The word means, "House of God,"...the family of God...and should be something that is valuable and precious to us.
With that said most seem to camp right there, and are content with the once a week revelation of His Glory at the "House of God." Jacob discovered Bethel to be "the gate of heaven..." Should we expect or desire more than that?
What had Jacob really gotten?...all that was there was a heap of STONES. Yes he had an awesome revelation, and it left an impression upon him...
"The House of God." "The Gate of Heaven."
Angels of God were ASCENDING and DESCENDING upon the heap of STONES. But how few of us have noticed God HIMSELF was still beyond his reach...that God was at the TOP of the ladder!
As the Body of Christ we are very much at Bethel...
the PLACE of the revelation of God's purposes in His people. We must go beyond revelation to transfiguration until we manifest HIS image! Otherwise we are still a heap of STONES.
God desires to work on those STONES, if we surrender to Him He will continue to chisel, and shape, and fashion each of us according to HIS WILL, until we "BECOME LIVING STONES" and built TOGETHER to form "a habitation of God in the Spirit." Not just a "visitation!"
"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the HOUSEHOLD of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief CORNER STONE; In whom all the building FITLY FRAMED TOGETHER groweth unto an holy TEMPLE in the Lord: In whom ye also are BUILDED TOGETHER for a HABITATION of God through the Spirit" (Eph.2:19-
22).
God has declared over His people as written in the Scriptures who we are...We are His CHURCH. We are LIVING STONES. But we must not fall into the deception of thinking His Declaration of what we are is sufficient, and deny (run from) the workings and dealings of God in our lives that will MAKE US TO BE what He DECLARES US TO BE!
There is no fast-track with God...time, life experiences are necessary ingredients to BECOME LIKE HIM! It is always revelation, transfiguration, and then manifestation.
When God revealed Himself to Abram and Declared, "Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram ("father is exalted"), but thy name shall be Abraham ("father of a great multitude");
for a father of many nations have I made thee"
(Gen.17:5).
God's DECLARATION of what he was, was sure and certain because God had DECLARED it; but it had not yet taken place. The promised seed (Isaac) was not yet born; the manifestation of Abraham becoming "the father of nations" would be years, decades, and centuries away.
In the changing of his NAME (our name...Rev.2:17; 3:12) is the PROMISE and the PROVISION by God Himself that we are to value and embrace, in order that it will go from a revelation, to a lifestyle in our everyday life.
He calls His own name upon us. He says we are holy; He says we are AS HE IS; He says we are His brethren; He says we are righteous; He says we are of His flesh, and of His bone; He says we are one with Him. As we EMBRACE that He will MAKE US TO BE what He DECLARES US TO BE.
"For we are MEMBERS of His Body, of His flesh, and of His bone" (Eph.5:30).
"Lord, I have LOVED the HABITATION of thy HOUSE, and the PLACE where thine HONOUR DWELLETH" (Psa.26:8).

"Our Advocate and Comforter" Pt.1
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an ADVOCATE with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And He is the propitiation ("the atoning sacrifice"..."the Mercy-Seat) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also the whole world" (1Jn.2:1,2).
"And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another COMFORTER (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby),
that He may remain with you forever" (Jn.14:16 Amp).
"Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is RISEN again, who also maketh
INTERCESSION for us" (Rom.8:34).
The word "Advocate" is only found in 1John 2:1, and the same Greek word is translated four times
as "Comforter" when speaking of the Holy Spirit
(Jn.14:16,26;15:26;16:7). In these names we see the ministry of Jesus, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit working as one in "Union of Nature, Character, and Authority."
The Holy Spirit "pleads with us in our hearts, and gives us peace and comfort within our hearts."
He intercedes that we might not sin and to reveal Jesus, the Word of God. He was sent to reveal God's son. The Holy Spirit is the "Spirit of the Son"..."Christ in you, the HOPE ofGLORY" (Col.1:
27).
"Likewise the Spirit also HELPETH ("comes to our aid and bears us up") our infirmities (weakness):
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself (himself) maketh INTERCESSION for us (with us) with groanings which cannot be uttered" (Rom.8:26).
"And because you are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant (slave), but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ" (Gal.4:6,7).
The Lord Jesus "pleads for us in Heaven," and is our ADVOCATE who represents us, our petitions before the Throne of God. He is our defense against him who is the "accuser of the brethren."
If we do sin, He pleads the Holy Blood on our behalf! The "Shed Blood" sprinkled on the Mercy-Seat in Heaven still has power to produce forgiveness, and to cleanse. It is still potent and effective against sin and all the accusations of the devil! The "Blood of Jesus" pleads the truth, and is the reply in the Court of Heaven to every argument of sin!
"Wherefore He is ABLE also to save them to the uttermost (Or, evermore) that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make INTERCESSION for them" (Heb.7:25).
How awesome it is that we have two Holy Advocates, One within, One above fulfilling the will of the Father in our life! We are on the potters wheel...and have a hand on the outside (Jesus) and a hand on the inside (Holy Spirit) applying just the right amount of pressure as the potters wheel spins (our life) at the right speed with the right amount of water (the Word)...being transformed from vessel to vessel, glory to glory, faith to faith, and strength to strength all to the glory of God!
(Jere.18:1-4; Eph.5:26; 2Cor.3:18; Rom.1:17; Psa.
84:7).
All human advocates will always fall short as it says in Job, "miserable comforters are ye all" (Job 16:2). It is the graciousness, and encouraging of the Holy Spirit...the COMFORTER that can give us the peace and understanding we need on the "wheel" of life.
Jesus our ADVOCATE, who we petition to as our attorney, is the eternal ministry of Jesus before the Father...face to face on our behalf.
"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an High Priest which cannot be TOUCHED with our
infirmities; but was tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of GRACE to HELP in a time of need" (Heb.
4:14-16).
Jesus is also our COUNSELOR. As our "counselor"
He speaks to us...As our ADVOCATE, He pleads for
us with God!
When we need to make decisions concerning our life, we should first seek counsel. Then our ADVOCATE, our attorney will plead our case in the courts of Heaven. Jesus is able to take our case, no matter what it may be!
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto COUNSEL is wise" (Prov.12:
15).
"I will bless the Lord, who hath given me COUNSEL:
my reins (heart) also instruct me in the night seasons" (Psa.16:7).
He is interested in our life, and He is our faithful ADVOCATE. It is an honor and privilege to have Jesus as our Heavenly INTERCESSOR and the Holy Spirit as our Earthly COMFORTER!
"Behold the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save (deliver); neither is His ear heavy, that it cannot hear" (Isa.59:1).
"O Lord, Thou hast PLEADED the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life" (Lam.3:59).
We have only ONE ADVOCATE in the presence of God...the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Father's ears are open to our every petition which is represented on our behalf by the ADVOCATE above, and inspired by the COMFORTER within!!
God the Son and God the Holy Spirit ALONE are qualified and have Heavenly authority to intercede in and for us, and they are our only Intercessors.
Jesus has full authority to speak on our behalf. The ground of His pleading is Calvary, which gives Him all-prevailing POWER with the judge of the earth.
He is our wise and learned Advocate as the Scripture declares..."In whom are hid ALL the treasures of WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE" (Col.2:3).
