Blowing out candles is not the best way to extinguish a candle. This can cause wax to spray on your face and smoke to fill the room. It can also bury the wick in the wax making it hard for you to light the candle the next time.
Ideally, you should use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame! Show us your candle snuffers!

Did you know the most important part of candle burning is to ALWAYS let the wax melt all the way across the candle? And do you know why? Failure to achieve a full melt pool, contributes to a process called 'tunneling'. The wick will sink lower and lower which then forms a tunnel right through the center of the candle and eventually, the tunnel gets so deep that it's tough to light the wick at all.
So don't set out to burn a candle unless you have a couple of hours to kill and let it burn all the way across. It takes patience, but if you follow these instructions, the candle will stay flat and the sides of the jar will stay clean the life of the candle.
