2017 Speaker Alert! "SYEDA HIFZA MARIJ" Syeda Hifza Marij has worked in Jazz RAN Technologies (centralized planning and optimization). She is also a visionary software engineer, whose work has been recognized as being amongst the top 20 humanitarian projects around the globe; she is developing and applying a website app ”Project: I AM NOT ALONE” for the sufferers of mental illness, in Islamabad Section under the umbrella of IEEE Sight Islamabad as a volunteer. Additionally, She is becoming a CISCO certified trainer. She has worked as a Key Accountant Manager at VTT Global, PR & Communications Manager at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute as well as Inductin’s spokesperson, and successfully played an important part in organizing many of company’s events. Ms.Marij graduated with a Software Engineering degree from Fatima Jinnah Women University. While studying there she was a founder and chairperson of the university’s IEEE student branch. During her student life she has been an Ambassador to many Technical and Non-Technical Events for e.g: Pakistan Student Computer Society Congress’16 and IEEE Pakistan Students / Young Professionals / Women in Engineering Congress in 2015. She was also a key organizer and sponsorship committee member of an International Conference on Emerging trends in Science and Technology 2016. Her other experience includes representing Scene Sheen as a Public Relations /Communications specialist, a JAVA development internship at PTCL, making various websites and also working as Microsoft Student Partner at Microsoft North Region Islamabad. She has attended several workshops on Application Development on various platforms as well as on the cloud. For example, CPD Workshop on “Software Defined Networks and Information Security Challenges,” “Future of Parallel Processing in IT industry” and the “Secrets to Management in Engineering.” She also attended IEEE Pakistan Student Young professionals Congress 2015. "Mr. Muhammad Zain"
Being the son of an air force officer, an engineer by qualification and a trainer by passion Zain
have been exposed to worlds which are poles apart. This diversity in the societies he lived in has
led him to believe that one can do quite many things only if there is versatility in the thinking, so
he set out to pass on this message to his fellow Pakistanis. Over a period of 2 years he has been
working in a heterogeneous environment. He served as Assistant Marketing Manager at LEM
Nation (Pvt.) Ltd and is associated with BilPakistan (Pvt.) Ltd in the capacity of an engineer.
Back in his undergraduate days he was linked with IEEE and was a part of major national level
events to which he was linked both as a participant and as an organizing member. Those
volunteering days gave birth to his passion of public speaking and youth training. He was a
member of the IEEE WIE STAR Project as a speaker in which he went to different schools in the
vicinity of Rawalpindi to promote the engineering field especially for the female gender. He was
a member of the counselor’s team sent by IEEE Islamabad section to a school of TCF. It was a
combined project between IEEE Islamabad Section and TCF to conduct session with school
students and guide them through different career paths. He has been a part Pakistan School of
Motivation and Inspiration Team and was a member of their project “DIOR In the Heaven” a 10
days training project which took place in different schools of Hunza, Pakistan. Recently he
worked with School of Leadership a youth training organization with the sole purpose of
cultivating distinction, there he performed duties as an intern where he was a member of the
organizing team for “Ilm Summit” a 2 day event which marked the closing of a project called
“Ilm Possible” conducted by different educational and welfare organizations spread across
Pakistan, this project was supervised by the British Council in collaboration with SoL. What he
feels is that every soul has its own spark; it’s just a matter of identifying it, once it is known, you
can never stop it from shining.
