I also wanted to let you all know that following the sad news of the passing of HM The Queen, and the state funeral taking place on Monday 19th September, The Mason Foundation, along with many other companies across the country, will be showing our respect by not operating on this day.
What a fab update from Home-Start Medway doing ! If you want to get involved and come along to the future ones, get in touch :)
One more day until our first ever Bug Safari in Lordswood! 🐛🦋
We've spotted another five mini-beasts in the forest. Can you find them? 💜
Volunteer Week is just around the corner, and we would like to acknowledge and thank all our incredible volunteers, who dedicate their time and effort to help spread The Mile message, to support more people to get active in a fun and engaging way.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to all our fantastic volunteers who make such a difference to our communities!
If you would like to get involved, please get in touch😊
Happy Friday! 💜 Not long to go before our Bug Safari in Lordswood on the 1st June! 🔍🐝
Can you spot the five critters that are lurking in the woods? 👀
Volunteer week is fast approaching!
From the 1st-7th of June we will be celebrating our wonderful volunteers!
Their contribution to bringing communities together to be active, is truly admirable.
A big heartfelt thanks go to everyone who has volunteered, in any way to support The Mason Foundation work!
If you, like our volunteers, want to make change happen in your community, please get in touch today. 😊
Did you know that according to research, 15 minutes of physical activity is recommended per day to experience long term health benefits? One mile takes at least 15 minutes. The same time it takes to watch half of your favourite TV show.
15 minutes may seem like a short amount of time, however, if used correctly, can have a BIG impact!💜
Share with us in the comments below how you plan to get 15 minutes of activity into your weekend.
As the summer approaches, we get to enjoy the longer days.
This could be an ideal opportunity to enjoy an after work evening walk in the sun.
What’s your post work activity? Let us know in the comments below.
Communicating with others is one of the best ways of sharing your thoughts, however, it is often one of the hardest methods, especially if you’re struggling with your emotional wellbeing.
We’ve set up a wonderful Facebook group, full of lovely supportive people, which is dedicated to encouraging conversations and building connections. So, if you simply want to share a picture of a walk you’ve been on (dogs with bluebells are a firm favourite), or advice on the best ways to peel an orange(!), we’re here for it (heart)
If you’re not already part of our fab community on Facebook, we’d love for you to come and join us over there!

Looking forward to seeing you in there 😊
We’re all human… and sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and lonely in day-to-day life. But it’s not something people need to suffer with alone!
This year, is shining a light on loneliness and the things we can all do to help others who are feeling this way.
In this digital era, we sometimes forget to reach out in person to our friends, family, colleagues and communities. But, with smartphones and the internet in our corner, it’s actually never been easier to extend a kind word or a friendly ‘check-in’ message to those around us 😊
Additionally, now that the weather is a little warmer, why not take a walk around the neighbourhood, the local park, or even just round the office? You never know whose day you might make with a friendly hello and a smile!
However you decide to reach out, we firmly believe that together we can let everyone know that they matter.
We’d love to know of any simple and meaningful ways to tackle loneliness from your own experiences – let us know in the comments ❤
This could well be considered as one of our favourite months as we love walking, especially a mile :D
Not only is walking a fantastic way of keeping active, it also helps to promote good emotional wellbeing.
It takes 15-25 minutes to walk a mile so make sure you get out there and tag us in your photos getting active this month.
🐇🐰🥚We had a great time at our first Easter Nature Walk in Chatham! 💜
If you missed out, come along to our second Easter Nature Walk on Wednesday. Meet us at 2pm outside Lordswood Healthy Living Centre! 💜

Today is the last day of , and to mark this day, we've asked Ranger Hamza, presenter of hit CBeebies show 'Let's Go For a Walk', to share with us why he thinks getting out and moving in nature is so important for a child's wellbeing.🚶🌳
'It’s Children’s Mental Health Week’, and getting outside has never been more important. Spending time in nature introduces children to a world of imagination and adventure, helping to boost creativity and improve their wellbeing.
A simple stroll can make all the difference to a child’s mental health, and that is why initiatives like The Family Mile are so important. So, this year for Children’s Mental Health Week, get outdoors and grow together.' 💬💜

❄️While Christmas is often thought of as a celebratory time, it can also be a very difficult time of year for many people, and with the current rise of omicron cases, this Christmas is likely to be especially tough for some.
❄️If you feel yourself struggling during this festive period, know that you’re not alone.
❄️This year, we’ve put together a few simple reminders to help you through.💜
❄️Remember, everyone has a different version of what Christmas 'should' be. Don’t get caught up in what Christmas is supposed to be like, or how you’re supposed to feel. Have a Christmas that works for you and your boundaries - so you can say, it’s .💜
