*MVD Rajouri intensifies enforcement against traffic violations; 55 challans issued, 6 vehicles seized, 5 DLs recommended for suspension, тВ╣1.11 lakh fine imposed*
RAJOURI, AUGUST 1: In a major crackdown on traffic violations, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri, acting on the directions of higher authorities, conducted an extensive enforcement drive across the district to ensure strict compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and promote road safety.
The enforcement drive was led by ARTO Rajouri, Ashiq Rafiq Malik, and covered Rajouri town, Potha, Dhandkote and other adjoining routes. During the operation, the enforcement team checked 250 vehicles and initiated stringent action against traffic violators.
During the day's drive, the team issued 18 challans, imposing fines amounting to тВ╣42,000. Additionally, three vehicles were seized for serious violations, while one driving licence was recommended for suspension.
The overall enforcement campaign resulted in the issuance of 55 challans, with fines amounting to тВ╣1,11,600. The department also seized six vehicles for various violations and recommended the suspension of five driving licences for offences warranting stringent action under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Rajouri, Ashiq Rafiq Malik, said that the department is committed to ensuring safer roads through sustained enforcement and strict action against violators. He emphasized that such drives will continue on a regular basis to deter traffic violations and foster responsible road usage.
He appealed to all motorists to carry valid vehicle documents, adhere to traffic regulations, avoid overloading, overspeeding and other unsafe driving practices, and extend full cooperation to enforcement teams in the interest of public safety.
The enforcement team comprised MVI Lakhvinder Singh, AMVI Nitin, and other officials of the Motor Vehicles Department, Rajouri.
