There are reports stating millions of young people are growing up in fatherless homes and becoming infected by the orphan spirit, looking for identity. Can you think of ways to help these orphaned youth?

and Stop 2 Heal, Lord permitting. Firstly, I believe God at his Word. If He said it, then the matter is settled and not up for debate.
Secondly, I believe…Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (KJV Hebrews 11:1). Consider this concept: Anything that is “seen” is not hope, a biblical principle, which tripped up Judas. He failed to see the bigger picture. Judas was blinded by selfish gain. He met with religious leaders in secret places obviously to discuss a trade-off that would put money in his pocket. Here is my question to you: Do you believe if Judas knew then what he knows now, do you think he would have made the same choices? In short, ignorance is no excuse. Note: Audacious efforts for greed, the realization of Judas’s error, turned out to be the catalyst to his act of su***de. So…what happened to the money? He didn’t benefit from it. the Hmmm…money.. well, it paid for a public cemetery.

Forgiving yourself and others is essential; however, forgiveness is not the same as forgetting. the act of forgiving is metaphorically like allowing for the space to begin again, a reset.

"CONNECTING WITH MINDY"
Imagine being 4 years old and sold for $200 by your mother to a drug dealer.
Mindy’s story is like that of many children who suffer the all-too-common contours of intergenerational poverty and exploitation. Her story begins with being sold at age 4 to a man for a $200 drug debt her mother could not pay. At the impressionable age of 13, Social services removed Mindy from where she had lived as a bond servant at “daddy’s place.” It was a demanding and an unforgiving environment she had endured as far back as she could remember. Blood-curdling screams, beatings, starvation, sleep deprivation, and heart-wrenching fear for her life was her reality in the daily dismal cycle of Pleasuring “daddy’s” friends. Unlike most children, she had never experienced a visit to the doctor, dentist, or even stepped foot in school, ever. She rarely saw the light of day except through glimpses between door cracks as she was never allowed to venture to the front of the edifice, the only door in or out of “daddy’s place.” “Pleasuring daddy’s friends” was all she knew. As she recounts her story, it is difficult not to experience the sense of despair and emptiness with her as she continues sharing her heart with us. She recalls being beaten black and blue when she took too long in one room with one man so she had to hurry to get to the next or else the beatings from “daddy” would be even worse the next time. It turns out, Mindy did not have any known siblings and her reference to “daddy” was an older drug addicted pe*****le and not her actual father. Mindy said she never knew of her mother. She could only guess her mother escaped through death as Mindy had hoped to do so herself on occasion.
A person with learning challenges and suffering from apparent bouts with epilepsy, the years of abuse left its inerasable disfigurements. Mindy was tall for her age, ruddy looking and clearly emaciated. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the average weight of a 13-year-old girl is 100 pounds. Mindy weighed only a meager 45 pounds, the average weight for a 6-year-old. She stood slumped over the chair, clearly exhausted if not from the years of physical abuse, then undoubtedly from the repeated torment of s*xual assaults, emotional abuse, and medical neglect at the hands of her abusers.
In the inhospitable terrain of nothing short of domestic terrorism, Mindy was a victim of domestic human s*x trafficking. She is 1 of 66 female minors of over 79k reported in Texas and where over 313k adults are trafficked each year. The young girls range in age from 9 to 17 years. This collective group is a mixture of Whites, Blacks, Native American, Mexican, and Asian; nonetheless, they all have 1 thing in common: they had been coerced, forced, manipulated, and r***d, repeatedly. The devastation left behind physical scars, mental wounds, shattered dreams, haunting anxiety, looming bouts of substance use and suicidal ideations.
After being rescued from the ring of s*x trade just over 5 years ago, Mindy wears short spiked hair styles and dresses in clothing that disguises her feminine qualities. She often sits alone appearing to be in deep meditation as her eyes leap anxiously at the slightest movement in the room. She is friendly but extremely reserved. She says science is her least favorite subject in school followed by reading and math. She enjoys doodling with colored markers as well as sketching stick figures, farmhouses, and farm animals. Her struggle to find solace is obvious in view of the fact Mindy still believes she is not out of danger as her thoughts are constantly disrupted with fear of being back in the grip of her abusers. She often mentions her struggles to make sense of her future in view of her grimacing past. She will be 18 soon which most youth look forward to, but not Mindy. she is horrified as she explains how ill-prepared, she is for navigating adult world activities like working to support herself and finding safety on her own. In sheer terror, she agonizes over the uncertainties of her life circumstances aging out of foster care. She wonders about the dreadful date of “termination of services” soon approaching. She asks, “What will I do? Who will help take care of me? I cannot live on my own. I’m not ready yet.” Where will I go?”
Stop2Heal, a 501(c)3, is our answer to Mindy’s heart-felt questions. We are working to construct a long-term residential facility for Mindy and women in similar predicaments with their special needs in mind. This new construction will contain a 96-bedroom complex complete with academic classrooms, job training computer labs, a private library, a barrier free gymnasium, and an on-campus counseling center with guard patrol for added levels of protection. This 1-stop-shop facility is being established in direct response to help meet the colossal crises caused by the heinous barbarism of human s*x trafficking in Texas. We are solution focused. We work with victims to become self-advocating victors!
Texas has over 350 policing agencies to address the criminality of this monstrous crime and fewer than 10 long-term facilities to address the residential needs of the adult women victims. Stop2Heal will be a restorative program expressly designed as a protective, authentic home environment providing recovery services as needed. Examples of those services will include stream-lined admissions processes, access to medical health care, connection to dental services, attention to nutritional hygiene management, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, education access and job skill training. Residents will learn how to confidently fit in a new-normal, healthy Texas community and become a positive contributing citizen to society at large. Every contributing partner will be helping to build a strong, systemic foundation to meet this extreme need for this severely under-served Texas population.

Special Education IEP & 504 Plan Support Group
As a mental health professional, it is absolutely worthwhile for any parent struggling with educational services to entertain the idea of building a community. A support system of tutors, therapists, and small study groups help to alleviate the strain of navigating IEP concerns or discrepancies. It truly does take a village.
