‘’Dit land is jouw land, dit land is mijn land, dit land is van ons samen.’’
Vandaag is het 21 maart, de Internationale Dag Tegen Racisme en Discriminatie. Deze dag is in 1960 uitgeroepen door de Verenigde Naties.

In Nederland wordt deze gehele week extra aandacht gevraagd voor de strijd tegen racisme en discriminatie. Het is geen toeval dat Our Ground in deze week uitkomt, want dit is waar ons lied voor staat: het recht er te mogen zijn, ruimte in te nemen en de wil om daarvoor te gaan staan.

Koorlid Wim vatte dit mooi samen in zijn woorden, helemaal passend bij ons lied en deze belangrijke dag.

Today is March 21st, the International Day Against Racism and Discrimination.This day was declared by the United Nations in 1960.

In the Netherlands, this entire week is dedicated to raising extra awareness for the fight against racism and discrimination. It is no coincidence that Our Ground will be released this week, because this is what our song stands for: the right to exist, to occupy space, and the determination to stand for that.

Choir member Wim summed this up beautifully in his words, entirely fitting to our song and this important day.

This time, Irosha reveals what Our Ground evokes within her: when she sings with Choir Duniya and Reversed, her sadness transforms into a counter-movement.

Especially for ‘Our Ground’ Christelle -one of the members of the choir- created a unique design, handmade by calligraphy. I am grateful that yet another member of our beautiful choir was willing to collaborate artistically to the project. You can watch her make one of the multiple designs she had made live and read how she translated the spirit of the song into a graphic design.

Speciaal voor ‘Our Ground’ heeft Christelle -een van de koorleden- een uniek ontwerp gemaakt met kalligrafie. Ik ben dankbaar dat er nog een koorlid uit ons prachtige koor Duniya bereid was om artistiek bij te dragen aan dit project.
