I am blessed to have published my first book on entitled Delicious Delights: Tasty Treats for the Soul.

Who’s fighting your battles? It is easy to assume you are capable of fighting your own battles of illnesses, troubled relationships, job lose, spiritual disconnection or grief from death. Exodus 14:14 tells you, “The Lord will fight for you, you need to be still.” Too many times you try to fight battles that are not yours to fight. God is telling you to just be still. Trust and believe that God is working on your behalf. It might seems unreal to you, but the Lord will fight you battles. Do not run before Him or try to work around Him; come to Him and lay it at His feet. He is concerned with every little detail of your life. I encourage you to try Him and be still.

What price have you placed on your soul? Matthew 16:26 informs us,”What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul. In today’s society, an individual’s worth is based on success which equates to money or material things. How many of you are living your best life not based on what you have but because you know your soul is right with God. Not many believers focus on the after life, seeing Jesus face to face or waking the streets of gold. As I view the world, too many of God’s children are chasing worldly possessions. We have been given a home in heaven. Is that priceless or are you busy storing up riches on earth? What is the value of your soul?

Today, I am blessed to celebrate my birthday today and rejoice in the Lord. I would like to share with you one of my favorite scriptures. Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.” As I look back over my life, I have endured situations that I did not understand, especially the death of my son, but the more I study God’s word, it keeps me, sustainis me, and encourages me to keep trusting God. I am grateful for family, friends, but most of, I am grateful for my Jesus who has supplied my every need. I encourage you today, whatsoever you are struggling with, do not lean to your own understanding, trust in God.

What is one of your favorite scriptures?

Be transformed. God tells us in Romans 12:2, “Do not confirm to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” It is easy to get caught up in what the world is doing instead of what God is requiring you. The world offers a false appearance of having everything at your fingertips. Yet, everything comes with a price. God is informing you not to live like the world. Life is difficult. You may have good days and those challenging days, but God knows what you need. Do not allow the world to convince you to take short cuts when it comes to obeying God. You should know that God allows things to happen to you for a reason. Keep your mind stayed on him. His plans for you are bigger than you.

Greater love has no man. When you think of love, who comes to mind? Jesus is love and the perfect example of love. John 15:13 tells us, “Greater love has no one than this , to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” In society, the word love is used so casually for there is so many meanings, but the true meaning supersedes anything you could imagine or think about. As a believer in Jesus Christ, your love should not have bounds. Jesus test our love in so many ways. If someone hurt you, do you still love them or does your love have conditions. It is much easier to live someone who loves you. The difficult task is loving one who does not. Check your love gage today. Does it represents Christ?

My hope is in the Lord. What do you say? In Psalm 39:7, David is asking the Lord, “What do I look for?” He is in a situation where wicked and evil people are around him. David is asking God to watch his ways and his tongue so that he does not sin. I’m sure you have been in situations where you had to hold your tongue so as not to say something mean and hurtful back at someone who was doing it to you. The reminder today is that no matter what comes against you, your hope is in the Lord. You do not have to fight battles against evil and wickedness. Let God fight for you. Now, that’s your hope., the faith to believe that you have already won.

Prayers on behalf of our fallen soldiers and their families for their sacrifices.

The strength of a mother (Proverbs 31:25). When it comes to her children a mother’s strength is indescribable, she with sacrifice herself to protect, provide, and preserve them. Mothers seldom considered themselves when her children are in need. She will go without just for them to have a better life. When God created mothers, He put the best ingredients in them. A loving mother is the closest we will get to knowing the love of God. I am beyond thankful for my mother. She gave birth to ten children and we had more than enough. My mother, Gladys, was a praying mother. She knew how to call on the name of the Lord.

Today, without hesitation reach out to your mother regardless of what she may or may not have done for you. God knows all about each of your situations. He is able to mend relationships. Even though Mother’s Day is bittersweet for me for I truly miss my son, but I have the beauty and love of my daughter.

Have a beautiful Mother’s Day whether you are a birth mother or a mother figure to many.

Praising in a storm. Psalm 34:1 states, “I will bless the Lord at all times and his praise shall continuously be in my mouth.” When in a storm of life, you will be able to have release by praising God while the storm is raging. Storms are destructive and leaves damage in its path. Some individuals are able to recover at a fast pace, but for most recovery takes far longer. I am determined to praise God no matter what situation I am confronted with because I know he is with me. If you are in a storm at this moment, I encourage you to start praising God for there is release and peace. The storm will eventually pass and your healing will begin. So rejoice🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Healing of the broken hearted. As I am yet dealing with the grief of another loved one who has departed this life for his heavenly home, I am deeply touched by Psalm 147:3, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” When my brother, Titus, passed, I was hit hard with sorrow and praise. Sorrow due to his death and praise because he was no longer suffering. I do realize that death also is a relief from pain. Yet, my heart is broken as well as many family members. I know without a doubt, Jesus is my healer. He will take my pain and turn it to praise. He knows how to bind my wounds and restore me. I pray for each of you who are dealing with grief. Allow this scripture to give you peace and comfort. God is able.

Healing hearts do not happen overnight, but the God of heaven and earth knows how to give each of you peace in your storm. He will give you peace not as the world knows it. The Bible states, “My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you…”(John 14:27). As I am seeking God for peace in my situation, I pray for God’s peace for you. God is a bridge over troubled waters. He is shelter in the midst of a storm. He is your stronghold when everything seems to be falling apart. I lay my situation at his feet, I hope you will do the same.

The Power of Prayer. God has given His children one of the greatest tools for every day living. That tool is prayer. In Psalm 41:3, David was beseeching God on the behalf of the godly who were suffering and on their bed of illness. This is a powerful prayer that God will hear. When you pray on behalf of loved ones and yourself, you must know that God hears your prayers and will answer according to His will. Therefore, do not feel hopeless when loved ones or you are dealing with difficulties of sickness, God is able to regenerate, renew, and recover the health of those He loves. So, do not fret, pray.

Resurrection Sunday. What Is Spiritual Life? The Lord Jesus Christ said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Jesus came so we might have abundant life and so that we might live to the fullest. Christ came so that we could live as God really intended for us to live. He came so that we could live a life that is abundant, full, and overflowing. Do you wake up each morning glad to be alive? Do you live life to the fullest? Do you enjoy living the best life possible? Or, do you go through life burdened down and overwhelmed? Share your thoughts.

Nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:39). When you think about how much God loves you, do you believe that nothing you say or do could separate you from his love? Many believers struggle with that thought. Does God still love me in spite of the things I have said or done? Rest assured, God is a loving and forgiving God. Nothing you could do is able to change that fact. Yet, the enemy runs rapid in your mind. He tells you that you are unlovable or God can not possibly love someone like you. The devil is a liar. The Bible informs you that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of Hell can separate you from God's love because nothing compares to the love God has for his children. Now, who are you going to believe?

God’ Hears Your Cry. God hands are all over your life. He has made provision for each of you time and time again. You must hold onto God’s unchanging hand. He has not forsaken you. There are times when you may think God is not listening and not moving on your behalf. Palms 5:2, “Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.” Remember, God always hears your cry. He will move heaven and hell on your behalf. Stay encouraged and hold onto God: for He is holding onto you.

In Palm 27, David is seeking the Lord. Asking Him to be merciful and hear his prayer. Sometimes in your prayer closet, you need to seek God earnestly. Life throws obstacle in your path that seems insurmountable, but your merciful God sees your situation long before you pray your prayer. God is waiting for you to call on His name with a sincere heart. David believed that God hears and answers. He knows God is his light and salvation. Is your faith at the level of believing that God hears and answers your prayers? If so, pray the prayer that you have been avoiding praying for whatever reason. I believe that God hears and answers.

Rejoice, Rev. S. Brown

God has a blessing with your name on it. This may sound like a cliche to most individuals, but God does. Deuteronomy 30:9, informs you that God will make the work of your hands plenteous… He is not slack in his promises. God will deliver. What would you do with an abundance of blessings? Yes, it is for you, but also for you to be a blessing. Do not fret over others and what they have, for you have a God that will supply your every need in Christ Jesus. Therefore, do not be concern about what measure of wealth is obtain by others. Remember, God does have a blessing with your name on it. Rejoice!!!

Strength in time of adversity. Why are you unable to trust God during times of adversity? The New Year has brought many challenges and uncertainties with it. Many lives have been filled with joy, sorrow, and pain. God is in the midst of it all. He informs you in the Book of Palm 28:7a, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” You must know that God wants you to trust him with everything not just some of the things in your life. If you trust him, you need to stand back and allow him to help you. Yes, it can be difficult to trust God when you think he will not come through for you, but I challenge you to move out of the way.

The Gift that keeps on giving. After the thrill of opening gifts, the one Gift that continues to linger in our hearts is the greatest Goft of all. The Gift that was laid in a manager (Luke 2:16). The beauty of this Gift is that it doesn’t need to be wrapped in boxes. This Gift is to be shared with all whom you know and meet. It doesn’t cost you anything. What a wonderful God who thought of you and decided to give you a Gift that will keep on giving. Do not hesitate to share the Gospel message of Jesus the Christ. The only Gift you will ever need. Be bless and stay encouraged.

Faith the size of a mustard seed is all you need to move mountains. This is what Jesus was teaching His disciples in the Book of Luke 17:6. He is teaching you the same lesson today. How big is your faith? You should know that nothing is too hard for Jesus. How big are you dreams? As you are nearing the end of another year, you should tell Jesus your hopes and desires. Whatever they are, His plans will supersede anything you could ask or think. Do not hesitate to follow your dreams. Do not push your heart’s desires to the side. Do not allow anyone to block your blessings. Jesus has given you a challenge. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you could up root a mulberry tree. The roots of a mulberry tree runs deep., but your faith should be deeper. Are you ready to exercise you faith?

You have the power. Luke 9:1, Jesus gave his disciples the power and authority to drive out all demons and cure diseases. As Jesus empowered His disciples, you as a child of God has the power to heal. Seek God and ask him for Spiritual Gifts. Your power is only given by the One who has all power in His hands. You must trust and believe that God has great things in store for you. When you call on the name of Jesus, He will deliver you, but with His power you are able to deliver others. Pray that God will impart to you the power to do His will. His kingdom needs for you to be of service to His people.

Thankful. Even though Thanksgiving Day is over, there is still so much to be thankful for. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 tells you to rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ. I hope you have built trust in Christ that you believe all He says is true. Praise should be continuously in your mouth. What do you desire from the Lord? Will He not answer you? Do not wait for the blessing to praise Him. Start now for He is all about blessing His children .

A Heart of Thanks, Oh give thanks unto the Lord. As we approach Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for this year? As we reflect on the months that have gone by and even today, are you grateful? God is a God that never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore (Hebrew 13:8). Yet in times of troubles, we tend to forget God is still in the blessing business. He knows your heart and your sorrows. As others maybe celebrating, you may be suffering. God is with you. His tender mercies are constantly sustaining you even when you are unaware of His presence. Just as my family does at Thanksgiving giving thanks for what we are grateful for. I ask that you do the same. This small gesture will bring harmony and happiness to all who are listening. Oh give thanks unto the Lord.

Mender of the broken-hearted. It’s as if Death makes more visits doing the holidays which makes it even more difficult to celebrate them. I can attest to that. I am sure some of you dread the holidays, but God. He is the mender of the broken-hearted. God’s words in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds. If your heart is heavy, God is your answers. Do not allow your brokenness to consume you. God is waiting to mend you. My prayer is for you to release and let go. God is with you.

A Grateful Heart. God’s word informs us , “Praise the Lord, my soul, all my inmost being, praise His holy name” (Psalm 103:1). A mind that is stayed on Jesus knows how to be grateful for all blessings big or small. Sometimes you forget to be grateful for the blessings that seem insignificant. Isn’t every blessing from God significant? As I am reflecting today, thoughts crossed my mind that made me laugh and made me shed a few tears, but I am grateful. I know where I have been and I know God has always been with me. I celebrated 12 years of being a cancer survivor. Nobody but God.

Share a grateful memory. I am sure it will be a blessing to someone.

Fret not!! Psalm 37:1 tells you to do not because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong…When you pause to look around and take notice of what is happening in your communities and in the world, you may wonder where is God. He notices everything. He is moving even though you did not see Him. God tells you not to fret which means: to not worry , get frustrated, or become doubtful. Keep doing what you need to do for the Lord. He will take care of everything in His time. I say again. Fret not.
