Zodiac Academy (book 1): The AwakeningΒ
Tory and Darcy, poor twins from Chicago, are surprised to find out they are actually powerful Fae. They are swept away to attend Zodiac Academy where they are immediately pitted against their peers because of their true last name.Β Β
I liked the strong female MCs, as well as some of the support characters. Tory and Darcy have been through a lot and are natural fighters. This book contains all of my favorite things: elemental magic, shifted forms, and constellations.Β

I didn't like the bullying. Book 1 is hard to get through. However, the reader quickly finds themselves rooting for Darcy and Tory and is left wanting more.Β
If you haven't started the Zodiac Academy series, you should. Book 8 comes out in December and will complete the series. While book 1 is a rough read, each book gets better and better.Β
