Research Rates:
How far back can you trace my ancestry? The early 1800's is typically where records start becoming scarce. However, there are many resources available to dive deeper. Are answers guaranteed? Unfortunately, there are no guarantees in historical research. Many factors could affect the availability of information such as a fire destroying records, how mobile your ancestors were, and how common their names were. However, odds are we will find out something! What information do I need to provide? Anything you can give me to start is makes the research easier. Birth years, marriages, death years, places lived, or full names of the family unit are great bread crumbs to find the trail. If I am researching an object, anything you might know about the piece's history or family lore surrounding it. Do you offer a refund if records aren't available? I do not offer refunds as there are no guarantees in research. You are paying for my research time. That being said, it is unlikely I won't be able to turn up anything at all. However, if it becomes apparent early on that there is a lack of records, I will inform you immediately so you're not paying for fruitless research. Confidentiality and Ethics
I will be open with you about whatever information I uncover. All information is strictly confidential & will not be shared with anyone without permission. What do I get? This depends on the service you have selected, but in most cases you will receive a report with copies of records and supporting documents.
