Did you know that the Black Racer is a daytime or diurnal hunter? That is why people tend to see them more than any other snake. The name racer is given for a reason. They will chase their prey on the ground and even in trees! Once caught, they pin it down and will eat it head first. Black racers are non-venomous and beneficial to your landscape. Did you know that Mallard ducklings can leave their nest one day after hatching? They are able to feed themselves, but hang out with its mother until it is ready to take flight.
