Reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals through easy and affordable lifestyle changes
A little about me…
I grew up here in Sun Valley, ID. After college at and grad school I went to work for in Portland, OR.
After 16 years in Oregon, I retuned here to Sun Valley with my family. That was 4+ years ago, and we haven’t looked back.
UPDATE 🔔
Three weeks ago I took a break from social media. I also partially tore my hamstring. I’m 1/2 way through what will hopefully be only a 6 week recovery.
It’s hard for me to have to modify my activity, but I’ve done it before many times (4 joint surgeries), and I’ll make it through.
WHAT NEXT? 🤷♀️
I’m still figuring out what my relationship will be with social media moving forward. I love helping people to live safer and healthier lives, but I don’t know that this platform is my favorite way to do it.

I created a simple graphic to help you evaluate products to determine their level of safety and sustainability.
At the top of the inverted pyramid you will find the baseline that I believe everyone should be using when choosing products, clean ingredients.
From there, each subsequent level represents an opportunity for a product to be even safer. Very few brands are committed to addressing safety and sustainablity at every level, but as consumers, this is what we should be demanding.
Out of Office
Last night in Chamonix for the summer, and the view/show from our deck does not disappoint
Lac Blanc is one of the most popular hikes in the Chamonix valley. I try to avoid it because it’s also one of the most crowded, but it’s still a beautiful hike and worth visiting if you come to Chamonix.
Au revoir Paris. à la prochaine fois.
If you ever visit the Chamonix valley, a trip to Refuge Albert Premier is a must.
There are so many companies in the clean-beauty space, but not all are created equal.
An analogy…there are a lot of brands making sustainable outdoor clothing, but only one is committed to saving the planet, Patagonia.
Beautycounter is the Patagonia of clean beauty.
While Beautycounter is on pause my goal is simple, to find a brand that has the same commitment to safety and sustainability as Beautycounter, and that brand is

The older you get, the more you realize that it’s not about the destination. It’s about the journey.
Today, I competed in my second trail running race EVER! There were so many things about this race they weren’t “perfect”.
- it was hot 🥵
- I ran the first 1K with my daughter so I wasn’t “racing” the whole thing.
- 50%+ of the race was downhill on gravel or paved roads (not my strength)
- I missed the trail marking and went off course, losing out on 3rd place 🤦♀️
All that said, there were so many things that made it a race I am proud of.
- I haven’t been a “runner” in 20 years, and now I’m a runner.
- I passed 8-10 people on the uphill
- I pushed hard but was calculated with my effort
- My daughter finished 10th in her first race over 3K
- I got to experience trail racing in 🇦🇹
Every person reading this likely knows someone who has experienced challenges getting pregnant or maybe you experienced them yourself.
This is often the first time that people consider the effects of toxic chemicals on their health, even though they can affect us at every age and stage of life, from puberty through perimenopause. This issue does not just impact women. It also affects men, their s***m count, and general hormonal health.
In this week's episode, I am talking with reproductive endocrinologist, Lora Shahine MD, about how toxic chemicals influence our reproductive and hormonal health.
She explains how toxic chemicals can disrupt hormonal balance during crucial phases of life. Regardless of age or stage, you will walk away with simple and practical steps to reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals and improve your hormonal and reproductive health.
