SOLD This Mystery Turkmen Chuval found a new home fast. Congratulations to the buyer!

This Antique Tribal Baluch Rug is most likely from Northwestern Afghanistan Khorasan Herat region.
It features an unusual and interesting Tree of Life Pattern in the field adorned, with what my interpretation is, varying motifs possibly representing different clans within the greater Baluch Tribal group stemming out of the same family tree. It has smooth silky wool pile, some natural black corrosion, original selvages in good shape with minor signs of wear. The kilim ends are in good shape bar a small section at one end.
19th century – circa 1880.

SOLD This Beautiful Antique Turkmen Yomut Chuval is from Western Turkmenistan in Central Asia.
Wonderful early example with Big Round Guls, well drawn secondaries and lovely flowers in the elem.
More colorful than most including a deep indigo and light blue, distinct deep green, nice saffron yellow and saturated red set on a purplish mahogany ground.
19th century – circa 1850.

Tekke Turkmen Nine Turret Gul Chuval

Just added to the shop! This Lovely Afshar Tribal Soumak Bag complete with kilim back is from Southern Persia Kerman area.
Well drawn reciprocal pattern commonly seen in weavings from Turkic traditions.
Beautiful range of all natural colors in wool and all whites are cotton to give the design a pop.
The beads in the tassels appear to be turquoise but I am not sure since I have no knowledge of rocks.
19th century – circa 1890.

This Super cute little Qashqai Darrehshuri Double Chanteh is from Southwestern Persia. Woven by the Darreh Shuri Tribe of the greater Qashqai Tribal group in Shisheh Dermeh teqnique. Small Bags – Chantehs as this one were made to keep small precious personal items. The white is cotton, the other colors are wool while the brown is natural goat hair. There are several tiny silk highlights used sparingly as well. The Bag is preserved in excellent original condition.
19th century – circa 1890.

This Interesting and Rare Kurdish Jaff Mafrash Panel is from Northwestern Persia, Kurdistan region.
I say rare because in my experience I don’t recall seeing many Mafrashes made by the Jaff Kurdish Tribal group. We know of many Khordjin – Saddle Bag examples and some larger Chuval Storage bags as well but as the saying goes never say never!
Has the typical silky smooth rich in lanolin wool pile we are used to find in other Jaff group material and lovely deeply saturated all natural colors.
19th century – circa 1890.
