The growth of every christian is dependent on the amount of the word of God you know.
It is only when you know the word of God then it can guide your life and your decisions .
As christians we need to make out time to study and know the word of God.

SWEET FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: DEALING WITH BITTERNESS IN LIFE & MINISTRY
(Part 2 C):

LETTING GO OF BITTERNESS

You cannot be bitter and better. What is it that you have suffered that glues you so much to the past that you cannot spread your wings and soar into the great future that lies ahead? What is it in that past of yours that makes you sickly pale, bereft of the sweetness and the pleasantness and brightness that every carrier of the Holy Spirit should have?

That evangelist in Sierra Leone did not answer that bitter man because what the man needed was more than a theological answer. He needed the Divine Comforter and Healer – the Holy Spirit. Have you been resisting the Holy Spirit and insisting things must be done your way? Have you also held to that hurt that you are losing your fragile relationship with Him? Beloved, it is time for change. It is time to divorce that hurt and pain and embrace the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Someone said being bitter is like drinking poison and expecting another person to die.
It is time to awake and arise to the realities of the present and prepare for the future by getting over the past. It is time to let go and let God.

It is when you take responsibility for the outcomes of your life that you make the devil lose his high ground in your life. Do not blame your entire present predicament on some injustice you have suffered in the past; that is irresponsible. You are responsible for the choices and decisions you make. Do not blame your woes on Mr. Black and Mrs. Blue. They hurt you, agreed, but now you are hurting yourself by refusing to forgive them and waking up every morning and wishing their concrete roof collapsed on them. All you have now is bitter reminiscences of the inglorious past. Come on, come on, come on; wake up from your bitter meditations and open the door of your forgiveness. I know it is hard. I also know it is possible. Jesus said,

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38 NKJV).

Your heart cannot possibly release dead, bitter water and sweet living water at the same time. For the rivers of healing to flow out of you, they must flow into all compartments of your heart and administer healing to you first before they flow out of you to bless others. You cannot be a blessing if you are not first blessed. I’d like to let you know that these rivers from God’s throne in heaven have God as their origin/source and so are the trees along their banks. The leaves on these trees are for the healing of the nations (Rev. 22:1-2). Let them heal you my friend.

Finally on this subject, the writer of Hebrews warns thus:

“Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God: lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled” (Heb. 12:15, NKJV).

Falling short of God’s grace is like running out of fuel in the middle of the highway with no house or human soul to come to one’s aid. Don’t you want to experience that grace? God’s grace can be enjoyed and can be lost. One of the quickest ways of losing God’s grace is by harbouring bitterness. The root of a plant is its life support without which the plant dies. Dealing with bitterness is not only done by positive confessions and positive thinking but by yielding to the Holy Spirit and opening your heart to His healing by forgiving past hurt and equally yielding to Him as well as presenting fresh ones as they shall never cease coming at us. Forgiving hurt is a badge of honour.

Let Him work on your hurt today; for indeed to err is human and to forgive is divine. Open your heart, pray and watch the healing balm of His presence obliviate the pain, hurt and bitterness.
