COLD WEATHER & BLOOD PRESSURE — PLEASE TAKE NOTE

Cold weather can affect blood pressure, especially in older adults and people who already have hypertension.

During cold weather, blood vessels can narrow, which may cause blood pressure to rise. So, please take extra care of yourself and your loved ones.

Here are some simple precautions:

✅ Keep yourself warm, especially at night and in the early morning.

✅ If you have high blood pressure, take your prescribed medication as directed. Don’t stop or skip your medication because of fasting or any home remedy without speaking with your doctor.

✅ Check your blood pressure regularly if you have hypertension.

✅ Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy, balanced diet.

✅ If you experience severe headache, chest pain, difficulty breathing, weakness or numbness on one side of the body, confusion, or difficulty speaking, seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Please take your blood pressure seriously. Prevention and regular monitoring can save lives.
