222 Artisti emergenti su cui investire / 2026” è finalmente uscito!

Il libro, anche per questa edizione in italiano e inglese, rappresenta l’esito di una proficua collaborazione tra il curatore e 100 nuovi segnalatori rispetto alla precedente edizione, scelti tra critici e spazi indipendenti, gallerie di ricerca, giornalisti specializzati, dediti all’attività di studio visit e talent scouting, dal nord al sud Italia.

Il prodotto finale è una nuova istantanea – senza velleità enciclopediche – delle artiste e degli artisti emergenti italiani (oppure stranieri, ma attivi da anni nel Belpaese). Cambiando il “fotografo”, è cambiata anche l’inquadratura. Così la ricognizione comprende, rispetto ai bienni scorsi, l’ambizioso traguardo di ben 95% new entry! Una ricognizione agile che, attraverso schede monografiche, mette a disposizione degli addetti ai lavori (galleristi, critici, curatori, collezionisti), ma anche dei semplici appassionati e curiosi, una mappatura per esplorare la creatività di una nuova generazione di artisti.

"Francesca stanca" è una scena sospesa tra l'intimità del quotidiano e il sogno aperto dell'immaginazione. Una figura femminile giace sul divano, immersa in un riposo profondo. Il suo corpo si rilassa e si distende in una posa che comunica fiducia, abbandono e forse malinconia. Tutt'intorno, però, accade qualcosa di silenziosamente fantastico: le radici affiorano dal pavimento, un fiore-alieno dorato si allunga, come se fosse anch’esso immerso in un sonno profondo, mentre in alto fluttua un fiore rosso antropomorfo, una presenza quasi spirituale o simbolica, che pare sorvegliare silenziosamente l’addormentata. L’ambiente si muove fluidamente tra interno ed esterno: sulla sinistra la parete si dissolve in un paesaggio montuoso, luminoso e onirico, mentre sulla destra riappare un muro neutro, su cui è appeso un calendario del 2023. Questa non è solo una stanza: è una casa viva, una mente che sogna, uno spazio che custodisce memoria, affetti, incontri. L'opera è ispirata alla vita collettiva vissuta a Venezia, in una casa abitata da giovani amici e artisti. In questo microcosmo domestico, il divano diventa un altare laico: luogo di passaggio, di confessioni, di sonno, di legami. Qui tutto si intreccia, anche gli oggetti: la coperta a quadri, le scarpe rosse abbandonate, le pareti che si sciolgono in paesaggi interiori. Il tempo in quest’opera è un tempo profondo, non lineare: mescola il presente del corpo addormentato con i sedimenti della memoria. È una stratificazione di vissuto, come la casa stessa— un organismo pieno di tracce, gesti, presenze. Il divano è un punto fermo come se fosse il nucleo di un atomo con gli elettroni che girano attorno.

The sculptures, made of papier-mâché and clay, are part of the Merge of Selves exhibition. They follow the line of thought: How do so many existences coexist within a single skin? How do all the fragments that inhabit us balance within the same body? Identities overlap like tides — a continuous merging, shifting, layering.

During the opening, I was modeling the Merge of Selves sculptures live. Identities that collide, overlap, recognize one another, reinvent themselves.
The concept felt clear, almost instinctive. But the gesture, the material, demanded more time — a slower rhythm of searching, sometimes led by intuition, sometimes by the forms that emerged in my hands.

LUCE IN PRESTITO DA UN ALTRO TEMPO
Merge of Selves (Fusione dei Sé)

a part of "Stazionalini – Rediscovering Bagagliera" - a project with a fluid and constantly evolving nature. It is a series of short exhibitions and impactful actions designed to convey the most authentic essence of the experience. The multifaceted and ever-changing vision that characterizes Fondazione Malutta found expression in May and June 2025: an artistic journey through the former train station of Borca di Cadore and its bagagliera (baggage area), featuring a performance, solo exhibitions, and a workshop of .
The project comes to life thanks to the collaboration with Dolomiti Contemporanee and the support of progettoborca.

It is initiated in 2024 and carried out with the support of the European Union – NextGenerationEU and the Ministry of Culture, with four events per year that explore the shifting boundaries between contemporary art, territory, and identity.
