Today’s your BIRTHDAY!!!!

For the last 11+ years I have celebrated birthdays with you and been in awe at the friendship that was found in the middle of a first grade classroom room and a crossfit parking lot!

How, I have loved growing and changing, dreaming and championing one another since the day we met!

Happiest of birthday days to the friend that it made easy to call you “sis,” from a girl that never had a sister!

I hope this year is truly more than you could hope or imagine for, because you deserve it!!!!

We celebrated 16 years this weekend in a place I’ve always dreamed of going!!!

13 years ago on the coattails of a miscarriage Shane’s company celebrated a big year by taking us on a yearly trip this time to Turks and Caiscos!
We laughed, dreamed and healed! As we walked down the beach one morning we stumbled upon a Beaches resort filled with families enjoying their moments together, we said ‘one day we want to take our kids here!’
This year, 5 children in tow we embarked upon that journey and let me say, ‘it was worth the wait, it was worth all the other moments in between!’
You see, I sat in pain and question with the Lord 13 years prior. We had 3 kids and yet my heart yearned for more, and I wrestled with not feeling complete but also very thankful! The Lord planted these seeds in my heart for family beyond what I knew in that moment. He placed dreams of one day even though I couldn’t see much past the phase we were in.
This past week all those seeds burst to life as beautiful flowers in the field of my heart! I realized the Lord watered those seeds with the very tears I had cried previously, along with many other things along the way!
I know we all recite the scripture ‘He works all things for the good of those who love him!’ But this week I lived that! I tasted of his goodness in the land of the living and it was more than I could have hoped or dreamed for!
I came home, turned 45 yesterday and can’t explain the anticipation I have for this upcoming year and the 45 beyond it!
If you’re in the moment of planting, remember sometimes it’ll be your tears that water your garden! If you’re discouraged in the waiting, take heart, He is always faithful, His timing usually is different than ours!
Thank you Lord for my beautiful family, for this beautiful life you’ve blessed me with!

We all jumped on a plane to surprise for his birthday!!! We got up before sunrise most mornings to join a crew who’s been gathering for worship on the beach for the last 7 years (they may have played God of Wonders every morning), witnessed a spontaneous baptism, joined for an incredible Sunday morning, ate mediocre food, drank way too much coffee and laughed, a lot!!! I highly suggest having lifelong friendships that you keep pursuing even after you don’t live in the same city, go to the same churches or have the ability to ‘do life’ together with anymore!

Last day in Paris…. We were tired but we pushed through saw more and God had many little moments planned for us today! Wasn’t the trip we planned because basically, our only plan was to take the girls to Paris! I’d say we accomplished that and SO much more!

First day of 7th and 1st for these two!!! As they walked away I was truly thankful for a different way of doing school! 2 days there, 3 days with me, sets my heart at ease!

One week in Oregon and we relived all of our favorite moments and added in a few new ones!
