In 2016 I was the Dean of Admission at TU, I was working on my 5th coaching certification and my babies were little. I hadn’t picked up a paint brush yet and wouldn’t for quite some time (I would hold 4 more positions at TU before deciding to leave) but 2016 was a pivotal year because my dad died that December. His death kickstarted my quest to discover my purpose in life. I started meditating and eventually asked my inner voice what I should do next, when I heard clearly “you should draw.” (Which annoyed me at the time because I was looking for some big life answers… little did I know😉.) While I don’t think art is my purpose in my life I have learned a lot about myself during this chapter and can’t wait to see what comes next.
I also remembered looking through old pics that my wonderful mother-in-law kept my kids overnight every Friday so and I spent those nights on our besties back porch until the sun started coming up and Heath made us go to bed. , Ben and I would just keep singing 90s country even when the birds started chirping. I learned a lot about the purpose of life in those nights too. Find the joy. 😉

My heart is so full. BTW is a magical place. And spending the weekend with over 100 members of our graduating class- 25 years later- was healing for all of our souls. We were just so thrilled to be together.
