Match Report 29/03/18 TAS vs AAVN

After a tiring week without walls, our team approached this game with a conservative mindset. We started the game with a slow pace, and as our players started to get a feel for the pitch, we increased the speed of the game and got the opening goal. For the whole first half, we kept the pressure on AAVN and unfortunately the halftime score of 2-0 was not an accurate representation of the half. At the beginning of the 2nd half, we continued pressing their defense, and as result scored another goal within the first 2 minutes of the second half. With the score being 3-0, our players started to feel too comfortable and conceded AAVN's only goal due to lacsadical defense. After a few rough minutes subsequent to AAVN's goal, we found our rhythm again and things went downhill for AAVN as we scored another four goals to end the game with the final result of 7-1.

Yo guys it's your favorite admin all the way from Boston. This is my first post in a long time. So for the first time in 3 years I didn't play for the team in the tournament. I just want to say good luck, do your best, play for the school, and for the seniors who are gonna play their last high school tournament.

Tommy :)

Season 2014-15: TAS 2 - 3 CIS 26/03/2015

March 26, 2015:
The TAS Mustangs went to district 7 to play against Canadian International School. Losing 3-0 in the first half, TAS got back into the game and scored 2 goals in the second half. However, the efforts were not enough and the score remains 2-3 at the end of the game. A loss is hard to take, but it is necessary as it reveals the flaws and weaknesses that need improvements before the tournament.

Guess what's happening tomorrow? That's right, school! Time to wake up early and say hello to all your friends everyday again! However, it is also the time to say goodbye to all that is leaving.

This post is a tribute to: Steven, the devoted captain; Kei, the best striker; Tommy P, the main man in the back; Kevin, the energetic winger; Thomas, the passionate winger; Matt, our sub keeper; Tony N, the toughest defender; Andy, the super-sub; and Holo, the youngest player in the team. That is all guys....Nope! How can I possibly forget, Cherry, our most active supporter, and Musa, our awesome photographer! (and anyone else, if I forgot, I hope I didn't)

To keep it short and simple, on behalf of the soccer team, I would like to say thank you for all your contributions and support for the team, both on and off the pitch, and good luck on the next chapters of your journey! :)

Go Mustangs!

The Mustangs started the first game of the tournament with a high hope for winning the SISAC Cup. All of the players played their best in this game as the game ended up 3-0 for TAS.

TAS continued to give our 100% in this game to score as many goals as we can to end the game early and reserve our energy for the semi-final game.

SEMI-FINAL
TAS 1-0 RISS
Kei

This is one of the toughest game in the tournament as TAS have never won again RISS before. However, our striker, Kei, scored an early goal in the game to give us a 1-0 lead. The game did not go easy as RISS was able to create a lot of dangerous chances, but the Mustangs did not give up. We gave our 200% effort for this game from defenders to midfielders and strikers. Our goalkeeper, Minh, had played a great game against RISS today. Minh made a lot of saves in this game as RISS nearly scored and equalized, but Minh was at his top form during this match. The team followed Coach Rasul's direction as we played pressure and aggressive against RISS and stopped RISS's strikers from scoring. The game ended up 1-0 for TAS as we successfully made a clean sheet.

FINAL:
TAS 4-1 SIS
SIS's OG
Kei x2
Andy

The final game of the tournament is even tougher than the semi-final. Most of our soccer team players are already tired and in pain. As the game started, SIS put up a lot of pressure and shots towards TAS's goal. However, the Mustangs played even better in this game. In the 10th minute of the game, as Duy was trying to pass the ball to Joe in the middle, SIS's defender made a bad clearance and the ball found its way into the SIS's net, 1-0 for TAS! In the second half, SIS played a lot of passing and shooting. Unfortunately, SIS equalized the score to 1-1 in the beginning of second half. After the equalizer from SIS, our players put our heads up and focus on Coach Rasul's tactics. As the game moved on, Kei received a pass from the side, he dribbled pass two SIS's defenders and gave TAS the lead again, 2-1 for TAS! After that, two of SIS's players suffered cramps, so they had to use their substitution. TAS took the advantage of SIS's fatigue to put up two more goals to finish the game. The 3rd and 4th goal were scored by Kei and Andy.

After the referee blew her whistle, all of our players ran straight up to Coach Rasul and threw him into the air in happiness.

I would like to thank Coach Michael, Nurse Ali, Ms. Clemmer, Ms. Katherine, Mina Tran, Musa Do, Cherry, Brad, Nick Tran, Mindy, Tina and Timmy for coming and support us today. Your presences today gave us a great boost for our morale to win the SISAC City Champion Cup.

As a lot of us are leaving next year, this SISAC CHAMPION CUP means a lot to us. It is not only the achievement that we wanted for a long time, but it also gives us memories that we will never forget in our mind and heart of team as our brothers. I would like to thank Coach Rasul and all the team members for making this happen. A truly remarkable season for TAS Soccer Team, 13 consecutive undefeated games!

Cheers,
Steven and Duy

U19 BOYS FOOTBALL SISAC POOL B CHAMPIONS 2013-2014

The TAS U19 Football Team went on an unbeatable streak, and finally beat SIS in the final to become the champions of the SISAC Pool B City Tournament!

21/04/2014

This is it, guys. In less than 24 hours from now, we'll be stepping into the most difficult challenge of the season: the Pool B City Championship. All the hard work, the practice, and the drills that we've done this year now all come down to tomorrow. Honestly, I can't wait to win the tournament, because we've been practicing so hard, and this year is our best opportunity to win this.

As mentioned before, we'll bring TWO UNIFORM ( WHITE, DARK BLUE), SHIN PADS, LONG SOCKS and of course our SOCCER CLEATS and a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. We'll be leaving after our 4th period (middle school lunch). Remember to eat healthy and sleep early tonight.

WE CAN DO THIS!! LET'S BRING THE POOL B CHAMPIONSHIP CUP HOME!! GO MUSTANGS!!!

For further information if you want to come and support the team, the tournament is held at Saigon South International School in District 7, from 2 PM to roughly 4:30 PM. We'd really appreciate it if you can come to support us, and it means a lot for the team.
