>> What is Blacklist?
Blacklist is a system that lists a list of people being banned from Vietnam, linked with all over the Vietnam immigration system, and the Vietnam police system.
This system has been assisting for a long time, but lately, due to the visa policies changing and the pandemic have been affecting and causing confusion for many expats here. Therefore, many foreigners accidentally get into this list and do not know how to solve this.

>> How does Blacklist work?
There are thousands of people listed in the Blacklist nowadays, this is why we would like to warn all of you about this. Some reasons may cause you into this trouble:
- Overstayed your visa (short term or long term, even 1 – 2 days still count)
- Staying for a long time in Vietnam without leaving and cannot prove their staying purpose
- Your name listed in the Immigration Blacklist for some illegal acts
- Using fake company, newborn company or un-working company to sponsor for the visa
- Having wrong category of visa (Using Tourist visa for working in Vietnam)
- Local police come to check the residents, or check the workplace, and the foreigner cannot prove their Visa purpose, or dealing with it in a wrong way
- Difficult nationalities
- Reported by the company sponsor, breaking the labor contract…
- Not understanding the visa processing and processing it in the wrong way (What you should do when having a new passport in Vietnam; what you should do if your passport got lost-stolen?)
If you overstay your visa, make some mistakes in the Vietnam visa process, or some other reasons… you can get into the Blacklist for 2-3-4 months or maybe 1-3 years.
For people in the blacklist, they won't be allowed to exit/ enter Vietnam for a long term or a short-term depending on each case, and they also have to pay a great amount of penalty fee depending on their visa status.
Besides, being listed in the Blacklist can ruin your plan, your job or your trip in Vietnam.
